At Baytown Sterling, we have 20 starters coming back. I like to look at it from the perspective of 20 players back who were one foot away from beating regional finalist Laporte (lost 14-13 with failed 2 pt conversion by Freshman RB with 1 minute left). Now my mentor Jerry Stewart used to say that we have 20 starters back who know how to go 0-10!!!! ;D
Lol, sounds like a saying from Coach Stewart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  lol  ;D ;D ;D

Realistically Nederland returns 8 off and 6 def, Nederland loses 3 from offense, both rb's platooned.  They lose Bill, Richard, and Benj/Nelson (rb's).  They also lose a senior receiver, but the receivers platooned as well and the stable is pretty full with Shaw,Barrow, Kimler.

They lose a little more on defense with Carr, Delord, Butler, Broussard, Hopkins, and the tackle that played quite a bit as well, forgot his name, but very good.  Hopkins played most of the games he was healthy for, so I would call him a starter lost on defense.

Actually, Sonnier will graduate this year.  Jhaylien Monette started on defense and Dylan Brackens on offense.

Cameron Yoe:  Lost to Tatum 21-14

I believe we will return 9 on each side of the ball as we were very young in 2011.  We are losing 1 OL, WR, LB, and corner, if I'm not mistaken.  Besides that, everyone is coming back.  In the end, I think we should be better at every single position next year, with some very good talent on the current varsity roster, combined with some good players coming up from JV.

Evadale will return quite a bit

Offensive Starters (7)                  Defensive Starters (6)
QB Wes Williams                        LB Conner
RB Jacob Conner                          DT Brandon Harvey
WR Matthew Totten                    S Braiden Burford
RB Skylar Smith                          CB Totten
T MAtthew Acerage                      CB Smith
G Tristen Reeves                        LB Reeves
T Hunter Jackson

The district will be differenent with Evadale, Sabine Pass and Burkeville the only surviving members of the district from the last alignment. Lovelady will likely drop to 1A D2 and will be a candidate to be new in the district, but anyone else would really be putting a huge travel hurdle with SP as the southern most tema in district. It likely could be that this district remains a four team district with all but one of the teams going to the playoffs.

Coach Williams has things to build on and a good group coming off of the JV for next season.

Gilbert is a junior, right?  What about the qb and scott?
Gilbert is a Senior but the QB,TE,WR, O line are all returning. we have two running backs that will be juniors that are just as good as Gilbert and Cunnings last year. Some of our District has all ready seen them in action. They are the ones that ran the scores up after the starters were pulled this year.

I thought yall's QB was a junior. Who yall got coming up in that department? Wommack is good and i'm sure he'll get better with Faircloth leading him.

AJ Smith was the back up this year as a Junior. Big kid (6'5") with a strong arm. He has more zip than Miller, but not the mobility that Miller had. This will be his 4th year in the system. Most expect him to do well next year under Faircloth. Of course not having Nelson to throw to hurts, but Logan Chipman is a big target at 6'3" and he impressed as the season went on. Chipman was only a Soph. Finding our inside guy to replace Lacour and our HBack replacement for Hanks will be tuff. Also hear we have a really good Freshman back that could see some action next year with Wommack. Lots of off season ahead! :(.

I'd say Nederland should be the slam dunk DC favorite next year. With Vidor and PNG in the mix for the 2nd spot. LCM returns Sezar and I believe had a pretty good JV (correct me if I'm wrong). Ozen will take a step back without Green. Central is an unknown from year to year, and Livingston may not be in 20-4A. If they are they should be tuff with Collins back at QB.

Yeah i agree but you never know when it comes to 20-4A and friday night lights. I mean just look at this season. The team picked to win district didn't even make the playoffs and a team that was picked to be a bottom dweller make it three rounds deep.

    • I personally hope PN-G gets 2nd gets to the 2nd round wins the flip against SOC and drag them them to Houston to play
    • I like option number two, PNG and Nederland both win. Nederland i’ll be the district champion, number 1 seed or whatever you want to call it. Yes I know that if two or three teams tie with the same record, they will be called co-champions and everyone gets a trophy. One team however will go in as the first place team in district and will play the fourth place team in the bi-district round. If PNG and Nederland both win, Nederland will be #1. • Virginia has same day voter registration. A person can literally walk in to the voting location, register and then vote. So the premise that Virginia might be stopping people with a legitimate right to vote is nonsense. From what I gather in the news report, assuming that the ones I have read are correct, the people that were removed, filled out a drivers license registration and marked that they were not an American citizen. Could the person have made a mistake bychecking the box incorrectly? Although unlikely it is certainly possible. That same person who was removed can go into the same voting location where he would have voted and again, complete a voter registration and then vote.  That went into the Supreme Court’s decision.  If such a person votes by registering on election day, he fills out a provisional ballot. Provisional ballots are not originally counted and or not counted unless needed. For example….  Statewide there are 500 provisional ballots cast. A person wins the election by 4,000 votes. That would be no need to count the provisional ballots as it will not matter. Then let’s say there are 5,000 provisional ballots cast in the election. One candidate then wins the election by only 1,500 votes. In that case, the election could definitely swing on those provisional ballots. The state will then investigate each person to make sure they live at the correct address listed and that they are American citizens. If these things are correct, the vote will then be counted. Safe Harbor is not untillll…… I think December 17th this year so there will be six weeks to verify the provisional ballots if needed. The purging of the names of people who checked a state form saying that they were not an American citizen, will not stop that same person from voting.
