Dayton Transplant Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 Hate to say it but BH will be front runner (lots returning). I think it's up for grabs from there. GCM-CROSBY-DAYTON-LEE-CHANELVIEW will be equal this year. GCM has slight edge over these 4. Will be a race in 19-4A. Going out on a limb1.BH2.GCM3.DAYTON4.LEE
Guest UHCoog14 Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 BH and GCM will battle it out for #1. GCM has both starting pitchers returning from last year as does BH. BH probably has the edge in experience. Their two games will come down to mistakes. Could easily split and be tied for 1st.Dayton will be improved. REL lost their workhorse. They are the dark horse in all of this.
Dayton Transplant Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 The district had some very strong JV programs last year and I can see some talent form those teams making some big contributions to the Varsity levels at all the schools. BH has lots of returning players (and LONG). Only reason I give them the edge
geedad Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 Don't forget about the kid that one hit GCM for one of there two losses last year from the Dark horse and got Crosbys bats to start missing when he went in for relief for our #2 pitcher. This kid has been working his butt off this summer so keep your eyes open with the Dark horse situation...Lee might not have a lot of big pop in the line up this year but we sure do have some scrappy ones that will put the ball in play...Win,lose or tie...GANDER fan till I die...
Dayton Transplant Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 No doubting any. Don't know all the kids. This is going to be a battle from top to bottom imo. Only one team is not a factor. The rest will battle for top four spots. Anyone can beat anyone. BH has more experence at Varsity level and a little more depth than the rest of us. Other than that, it's a horse race to the finish.
Guest UHCoog14 Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 He can only throw once a week. So looks like REL will be .500.If GCM stays healthy and finds some pop in the middle of the order, they could re-peat. Forgot about Crosby. Not sure what they have coming back.
Dayton Transplant Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 Crosby lost almost all. JV was good but no experence. Like that .500 attitude LOL. He may throw at ya twice. Ready to get started. Love the game.

Seems like they were not aware of Thamm, Silva, Kelley, and Burditt. ;)

geedad Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 I wouldn't be so sure Pats..... ;)...There is this underclass men that can throw a lil...But I do have GCM or The Hill battling for first this season...But like u said stranger things have happened..

Dayton Transplant Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 Lot of Baytown Christian kids went somewhere. I know there not here
Guest UHCoog14 Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 BCA has kids at RSS and BH that I know of. I know Kade got the LaPorte stud catcher at Houston Christian.
Dayton Transplant Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 Could have sent us a couple LOL.
Eagle0011 Posted December 10, 2011 Author Report Posted December 10, 2011 GCMPats, Did Matt Cavasos transfer to Houston Christain ? Is he the stud catcher you were talking about ? He was district MVP last year at LaPorte.
geedad Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Yes sir he did....HCA gonna be pretty good this year....Starting rotation is to die for...Both starters TCU signees and both hit 90+....And the sure have a line up with power...The bullpen is something nice also...
Steven Avery Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 shouldnt he have been an lee kid anyway? I thought i heard he did the open enrollment deal at LaPorte? If so how did hackney let that happen
Guest UHCoog14 Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 What do you mean by "open enrollment"? Because of TAKS scores?Lee is not under any such mandate at this time. They have only had 2 consecutive years of "Academicaly Unacceptable" scores. This year would/could be the 3rd.
geedad Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 LaPorte does have open enrollment..That is how he went to LaPorte....To be honest if all the kids that were supposed to go to Lee would have...Well you never ..well let's see.No names the kids that should have went to Lee but moved before freshman year 3 went to GCM,1 went to LaPorte and 1 went to Huffman...Dang it makes me sad thinking about it..
Guest UHCoog14 Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 Since we are talking "what ifs". What if GCCISD had combined REL and RSS (as was proposed) and not built GCM?That would have been one hail of a team the last few years.
Steven Avery Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 Yeah I was talking about LaPorte having open enrollment. I had spoken to a coach at LaPorte who told me he had a kid from Baytown who enrolled in LaPorte but just had to provide his own transportation in which he did. He told me he was MVP of the district but until now the name had not clicked. Wow what a big loss for Lee the past two years, yikes.
geedad Posted December 13, 2011 Report Posted December 13, 2011 GCMPats...Can u say unstoppable...I really think we could of went all the way last year and this year...

Also some of the JV kids got some Varstiy playing time last year. So they will be good.
