nikespeed Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 I heard through the grapevine that LCM's Hunter Gonzales and Zack Sonnier were transferring to Lamar to play football. Can anyone confirm this?

They are both talented but Hunter is moving to safety at Lamar.Congratulations and glad we got them coming to Lamar. We need more players like Andre Bevil? ::)

badndn Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 Gonzo at Safety makes a lot of sense. He is quick and smart. At QB it didn't make as much sense. Excellent HS football player, but not a D1 QB.Sonnier will provide depth at a position sorely needed when running the spread.

I’m glad we are getting some local players but it seems there is no since of real loyalty to choices.

[/quote]I firmly believe that the case of [b]Home Sickness[/b] is playing a major role with Gonzales and Sonnier transferring to Lamar. JMO

nikespeed Posted January 5, 2012 Author Report Posted January 5, 2012 Got a chance to talk to Sonnier's dad, he says that neither have to sit out a year.In the case of Gonzo, I don't think it was so much home sickness, but more choosing the wrong sport out of Highschool. He wentbto Wharton to play baseball.
