I know have seen both teams play.  In close games HJ will play 8-9 people.  I only saw Silsbee play 7 people in the game against Evadale until the final minute of each quarter.  Both teams very well coached, and each team has star players.

Silsbee is 8-9 deep.

Starters: Gaines, Wilson, Elam, Holmes and Dobbins

Key players off bench: Jackson, Reed, Brydson and Barnes

Remember, Elam did not start or play the first half against Evadale.

I have seen enough of Silsbee games to claim they play 8-9 on a regular basis, including close games.

I vote for way better.
HJ has 3 players that's better then Silsbee's best!!
Disagree.

Prudhomme is the best by far, but Elam and Holmes are as good as Bosha and Johnson and I think Gaines is right there with them too.

I don't think it matters very much who is better individually since this is a contest pitting one unit against another.  If the individual stuff mattered that much, Dallas wouldnt have beaten Miami last year for the NBA championship.  On a side note though, if the contest were to be some type of one on one competition with height not mattering, I would put my money on Devonte Johnson.  He shoots the three as well as anybody HJ has had,( in most instances) can jump quite well for his height and if he wants to go to the basket, he will definitely get there.

I agree with what I put in bold. Do not know enough about said player to comment on that part.

Very true on the first part, as far as Holmes in a matchup against him and Elam could hold his on as well although Johnson would have the advantage on the three ball.

I have only seen HJ play one game and that was against Evadale.  Using the Colin Cowherd eyeball test, I have to say Silsbee looks like a more talented team.  Now that was just what I saw in one HJ game and I heard they were missing a key player.  I'm still going with Silsbee by 7.

What you saw was one starter not at the game and another getting sick the first quarter and not playing any more.

I don't think Barnes played much if at all in that game either,  he may have been nursing an injury.  Was told he was seen limping a bit.  definately wasn't the same rotation,  I had seen in the last few games before Christmas.

I know for a FACT that Silsbee only played 7 people in the 2nd half.  At least it was that way until I left with less than 2 minutes left, and then Silsbee put some other kids kids.  But for the first 14 minutes of the 2nd half, they only played 7!!!!

I hope you are right on the outcome, but don't go to sleep one more night believing that Silsbee is more talented than H-J. :o

But none of that matters.  You can only play 5 at a time!!!!

;D ;D ;D

True and in the past I have seen where neither coach has used as many players in this matchup as he has in other games.  It will  be an interesting and hopefully good game.

    • Sorry sir on my miss count. I was in hurry
    • Are they offering refuge to criminals? Or is it a Trump talking point? Refugees are people who leave their country due to unwarranted prosecution. I actually take care of 2 refugee kids who have complex medical needs   No, refugees are not criminals, and the assumption that they are more likely to be criminals than the general population is incorrect:                                                                                          Research shows immigrants commit crimes at lower rates Immigrants in the United States commit crimes at lower rates than the U.S.-born population, including unauthorized immigrants. This is true across immigrant groups.                  Immigration doesn't raise crime rates Immigrants don't raise crime rates in the communities where they settle. In fact, some studies suggest that immigration can lower crime rates, especially violent crime.                  Anti-immigration politicians have spread a myth Anti-immigration politicians have repeatedly tried to link immigrants to crime, but research shows this is a myth.                  Refugees don't cause crime in Turkey A study found that refugees don't have a causal effect on crime rates in Turkey. In fact, the study found that refugees may have a negative effect on crime rates per capita.
    • I think it's actually the first time ever to get past the second round. Some older folks might try to tell you about Scott High but I wasn't here when that school was around 😆
    • Smith is 78-31 overall and 18-8 in the playoffs. His first three years he went 23-15 overall and 6-3 in playoffs. His Silsbee teams are averaging making 3rd round every year in his 9 years as head coach.
    • Wishing everyone a great Thanksgiving!
