We've lost many games this year due to no execution in the 4th. I still say that you need your best players (G. Mitchell and K. Smith) to be in the best positions to do damage on set plays. Smith is a good 3 point shooter. Get him an open 3 point look off an off the ball screen. If they play it too tight, he'll drive in and finish at the cup. Get Mitchell a good look off a quick curl for a midrange jumper. If they overpersue, he can also finish at the cup in traffic. ForeverADog Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 I will say I think Central is one of the worse coached teams. With the talent they have they could easily be a top 10 team in the state. They just stand around on offense and never really run any plays or motion and they don't rotate on defense in that zone they tried to run.
BLUEDOVE3 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Lets see, how does that notable quote from a very notable and worthy author goes: Winning makes you forget about losersda Dove ;D

BLUEDOVE3 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Actually I've been impressed with all the coaches I've seen in this district. I actually knew more about English's coaching style than any other because we would see his teams participating in Houston. Central is going to be loaded with talent next year. I personally don't think they will go far this year in playoffs. Too young and maybe a lack of leadership on that team

baddog Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Central already shopping for coaches? The only thing a coach can do is get players open shots, teach them to box out and rebound and to play defense. They also make the game plans and prepare their players. Coaches make in-game decisions too, but they can't make the shots fall. Didn't see the game but the % stats show me that Central shot poorly while Ned shot 58% even with offensive rebounds, which lowers the percentages. Tell me if I am wrong.

If we want to beat Nederland in the second meeting and make a nice playoff run, these are things that we need to work on for the next few weeks, IMO.
As a Nederland graduate from 20 or so years ago, it still shocks me what Brian English has done here. I never thought I would see the day when Central would be talking about being able to compete with Nederland and hopefully beating them in the next game. Huge reversal of fortune.
Yes. True. He did it at Vidor and he is doing it here. I gave you guys heck the last 2 years stating that the players are good as you have the Cunningham, Forney, Smith 3 headed monster. Now, this team is getting it done by better coaching since this team isn't near as talented as last year's team. English have had my respect for several years now.
Soulja do u even no where coach English play college ball @
What does it matter?
U are the answer man for SETX right.
:-\ Do you recall anyone branding me with that title? I don't. ??? ???
