Good Luck Coach Riordan. Crosby got a great one.[/b][/quote]Just by hearing him at a clinic you can say he is very intelligent and passionate and will be a great asset to the community? Guest Coach4life
You are correct Aggie. It was the DFW clinic on their screen game. He and his staff spent an extra hour after with us. But clearly not enough time to judge those things. Anyways...how well are the lower levels in Crosby.

Varsity had great size and speed (Crosby's receiving corp was unbelievably big and athletic, all of them '6"3 or bigger) but just couldn't understand why they chose to line up in a 3-3-5 defense against Vidor's slot T offense. Vidor just ran through them with no problems, particularly the right side. The more talented team (Crosby) definitely got beat by the harder working team (Vidor). The JV level had lots of talent finished 5-1 in district. North Forest game cancelled. Lost to Dayton 7-0. Remember alot of the kids that started on JV played with the Walter twins their Freshmen year. I'm sure a few more would have been on Varsity if not for the Seniors who get to dress out for Varsity. Should be a talented group next year.

For one it would make the team deaper in positions. There are good players on B teams. I'm just saying that Dayton is not playing against a whole team of kids that could make a difference. I think you have felt that by now :) The Crosby team that shut out Dayton a couple of years back got destroyed by Dayton thier freshman year. AggiesAreWe
Crosby was the more talented team, Vidor was the better team, better coached.Anyone could clearly see that. All state lists doesn't really define the player talent wise. Vidor only had 302 total yards of Offense. Crosby had 412. The game came down to turnovers (2), Penalties (11 for 100 yards) and the type of D. Crosby's D did not match up very well vs Vidor's O (Wing T vs 3-3 stack). the match up would say your going to get 3-4 yards a carry, and in playoffs it all about match ups.Vidor did a great job... Grinding the ball down the field, keeping the Coog D on the field, controling the ball, and making the O make desperate decisions.. My hats are still off to Vidor but saying they were more talented at almost ANY position is crazy.
