That's pretty funny statement considering Vidor only attempted 2 passes the whole game!!!Vidor pounded Crosby for over 300 yards rushing.Like I said, Crosby was the more talented team, but Vidor was better coached and the better team. 42-20 pretty much speaks for itself.
"Pounded"??? Vidor only had 302 total yards of Offense. Crosby had 412. The game came down to turnovers (2), Penalties (11 for 100 yards) and the type of D. Crosby's D did not match up very well vs Vidor's O (Wing T vs 3-3 stack). the match up would say your going to get 3-4 yards a carry, and in playoffs it all about match ups.Vidor did a great job... Grinding the ball down the field, keeping the Coog D on the field, controling the ball, and making the O make desperate decisions.. My hats are still off to Vidor but saying they were more talented at almost ANY position is crazy.
Who said that? I stated that Crosby was the more talented team versus Vidor. Talented or not.But that's just my opinion.

slappy
so more talented. what makes them more talented???? 40 times??? height???? shuttle run???? good football players win football games. blocking, tackling, prepared, clutch play. vidor had good football players and a good football team. why shouldn't they win. the big plays against montgomery and the play of the qb/lb were phenomenal the next week. why when vidor wins does it have to be a slap in the face of who they beat. more talented....talented at what???? oldsarge777
Once again, the posters of an internet website show their ignorance of the game. Most, if not all, of the posters regarding Crosby's defense do not understand anything but how to count down linemen. Therefore, Crosby played a 3 man defense and did not give theirselves a chance to win. Checking the district stats for the year against common opponents, Crosby's defense ranks third overall behind two teams whose offenses dictate the number of snaps the opponent is given (Barbers Hill & Goose Creek Memorial). Secondly, in the Vidor game, Crosby allowed the second lowest yards per rushing attempt of Vidor's 13 game season. For the coaches who occasionally visit this site, please post the forum address of the refinery worker bashing forum so we may also show our ignorance regarding your profession. Most coaches watch the refineries as we drive by them so we should also be allowed a chance to tell you what idiots you are do to stock market fluctuations with your company. Now that I have you all excited and defensive, Crosby lost the game and Vidor did a great job throughout the entire season. A few things to consider:-40 times don't make football players-The same coaches you are bashing now were the ones you were bragging on two years ago or at least they were the ones coaching the players you felt were winning regardless of the coaches-If the school has a history, good or bad, it is more than likely due to your Y chromosome rather than the coaching (ie. if they have been winning forever or if they haven't been to the playoffs ever or won a playoff game since 1964)

The closest thing to an excuse given was the fact that one of our 2 beast on our defense hurt himself and got knocked out of the game in the 2nd quarter. When vidor wins vidor fans will try to rub it in for hours. Dayton was probably more talented than Barbers Hill this year but issues and BH's option offense won vs Dayton Due to matchups. Honestly Vidor is a matchup problem for almost any team without a top notch defense... ala Angleton. It's like this is 19-4a would have gotten the matchups to suit them best it probably would have been PNG v Dayton, BH V Vidor (LB core was very good), Crosby v. Ozen (Very similar teams.) and GCM v Nederland (Mainly because nederland had a great defense vs a pretty good power run game.) However the matchup of Vidor vs Crosby is in favor of vidor because they simply didn't make a single mistake all game, and Crosby is an opportunistic team. I like how 40 times tend to matter to you guys, but honestly the thing that sets Austin Walker apart from other backs is his extreme quickness and his ability to cut back. Some of the better LB's in the region (BH) couldn't touch him let alone tackle him. Dayton had a very tough time with him as well. Vidor played well but we got down and just started throwing the ball so much it wasn't our offense anymore.
