BADSANTA Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Where is the Silsbee girl talent? Any good prospects coming up thru 7th or 8th grade?

If not then that can explain alot. Second, more kids are specializing in one sport. That is a big problem. Some parents pin all their hopes and dreams on their kid getting a scholarship. The reality is very few get to realize that dream. All teams go through a lull when the talent is simply not there. That being said I never thought I would see Silsbee go through such a lengthy lull. Also and I know I will take some heat for saying this but track and basketball require more running than the other two sports. Some kids don't like running because it is work.

BADSANTA Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Silsbee girls have been down in the dumps for the past 4 years. I remember Laquan Stallworth, Brandi McCain, Shandy Carter, and even Ang Green all playing little dribblers ball. They all starting playing basketball at a young age and were very competitive vs the boys. Last time I saw a Silsbee girls game was last year when they lost to Hardin Jefferson by 60 at home. I don't think I even saw no more that 2 girls that could actually hoop.
