Silsbee is good, but they are not that good. They are defiantly not #1 in state. The players have hot heads and should've been givin technicals all night. And there coach didn't ever correct his players which will come back to haunt them in the playoffs. OF could've won that game tonight. Watch for a closer game the next game.
Uhmmmmm....you are talking JV, right?  OF Varsity played very hard and did play a good game, but there was no way they could have won that game.

I wouldn't go as far as saying OF could have won that game, but I will agree that the players from Silsbee can't keep their mouths shut on the court. It's one thing to get in the mind of your opponent, but do it with the way you play the game, not how you talk to him. It just causes problems and there is no place for it on the basketball court. And yes, I will dare to say that that's the difference between Silsbee and HJ. HJ has far more class than Silsbee. The HJ players tried to shake the hands of those from Silsbee after the game, but were refuted by the PLAYERS from Silsbee taunting them and throwing the last-second shot win in their faces. HJ knew they lost and tried to congratulate the other team, but there was no class from the Silsbee players.

You obviously didn't see the same game I saw. ::) Silsbee led by 13 after the 1st, 19 at half, kept a 20+ lead throughout all of the 2nd half. Other than the first 3 minutes of the game, when was it ever close enough for Orangefield to win?

That was as sloppy a game offensively and defensively from Silsbee as I have seen them play all year( reason why some of the starters were left in for the 4th Q). I am willing to bet the margin of victory in the game at Silsbee will be greater, not lesser.

Orangefield played hard and never quit, but the Bobcats were far from "should have won" that game. ::)

::)

That was total chaos after that shot went in. Fans and students all over the court. The hand shaking thing didn't happen in large part of that situation.

Hey, I've got an idea!

Let's stop right now with this crap about who has class and who doesn't.  There is nothing good that will come out of it, and it will only create a bad atmosphere when these two teams meet.

I LOVE the HJ-Silsbee match-ups and I want to keep it that way.  Personally, I'd rather see this thread shut down than to hear any more about that.

This is stupid, are you kidding me. All teams and I mean ALL TEAMS talk smack on the football field, basketball court or whatever. That is todays society. All you have to do is watch professional sports to see that.  Come on man!!!!!! Back when I played we said nothing. We took care of business on the field and then pointed up and said, look at the scoreboard. That is what we was taught. I think our way was better and  more rewarding. Most professional athlete's are not the best role models for our young people. I say most high school coaches are.
