Yeah. It's been in the PA News. The turf company said it had offered to come by and evaluate the field, but that PN-GISD never got back to them about a time. Don't know if that's true or not and honestly kind of doubt it is.

This has been an ongoing issue. There were complaints about the wear on the turf within a year of its installation. I heard someone say that it wasn't designed to stand up to the extreme weather conditions of SETX, but I don't remember who said it and I honestly don't believe that.

We'll see what comes of it. Hopefully the result will be a new field.

I read this article.  This is really odd.  That turf is built to withstand any weather.  Memorial's turf and I believe that Beaumont ISD's turf was made from the same company and nothing is wrong with their stuff.  I hope it's not vandalism.
Me too . Dayton's turf is still in good shape also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

Dayton has had some problems with there turf as well. I believe all of the numbering on the field was replaced recently. Not sure why it needed to be done but, i think it was warranty work.

I think Dayton's turf has had work done more than once due to the wear issue. I could be mistaken here.

Rumor has it that the problem started last year (2010 Season) with the game against the Central Jags. Excessive TD's by the home team.....

Sorry Soul, had to say that!!
No, it started the year the turf went down in 2008 when every team raced up and down the field to score TD's on the happless Inidans.  Remember, the 'cursed' field.  The last game was no exception as my Jags burned your field up with all that speed.  8) 8)

And yet y'all still lost by 30 points. ;)

Besides, I think seven home wins and a perfect regular season broke the curse. ;D

More like the Jags didn't know how to kick a PAT and Dre' Dunbar tore right on up the field. Where was all that speed you mentioned then? ;)

Oh wait, that wasn't at Indian Stadium. That was in y'all's house! ;D

If I'm not mistaken, in the offseason, isn't there a huge tarp-like cover that can be placed on the turf to avoid weathering?  Isn't that what the NFL does?
If there is, I've never seen it. It probably isn't used because the soccer teams practice out there while the football team's in offseason.

Hey,  you are just WRONG for that!  :P :P  ;D ;D

I was in reference to the hot summers, when there should have anyone on the field durring the summer months unless PN-G opens their stadium to the public, I would assume.

I believe the field is off limits as well as the track, because of some vandalism in the past.  They could cover it during the summer if need be.

It was for about a year, but I had heard they opened it back up to the public.

I also know there used to be some ultimate frisbee games on the field during the summers (I think YoungLife sponsored them).
