Everyone knows that certain schools in the Dallas and Houston get tons of transfers as long as they are winning. There is no set district lines and kids transfer and never get questioned.  That is one the biggest problems and toughest problems for the UIL because it is such a small area compared to the huge population.
[/quote]Recently , there was a kid who transferred to Yates from within another HISD school. The kid had to play jv. Last I heard he was moving back to his old school. The previous year, a kid from the CY-Fair area transferred to Yates. That kid had to play jv because he had not met the residency rules.

La Marque is coming to 3A boys. My old college roommate who is a teacher there said their numbers average close to 675 on a good week. Yates won't be coming down anytime soon. HISD has had a record year for drop outs. Small the school, the less funding you get.

No way playa! HISD will filter kids in just to get the numbers.

Whats with the playa reference? Have you been watching some hip hop documentary on VH1 or something?  :o....From what I hear, its gonna happen...Guess we will find out on Feb. 2nd! ;)

Will they be required to start fewer fights when they drop to 3-a?

I know Stafford has flip flopped regions the last couple realignments.  Is there any chance this Houston schools distict  would end up in that other region?

You PRAY they stay where they are right now... ;D...all indications point to Yates being 3A next year...Unless some decision is made between now and next week, its appears to be the case.

Is Yates really going to hang their hat on throwing their weight around in 3A?  IMO it will lessen their ability to get top notch transfers, uh, move-ins, uh, whatever you want to call them, etc.

Correction;  Lamarque going to 3-a will require more Sheriffs staffs in all 3-a towns

Just because LaMarque turned in 3-A #'s they dont have to drop to 3-A. They can stay 4-A. Someone else would have to verify, but I think thats what happened last year.. Their #'s were only 3-A but chose to stay 4-A.
