In 1991 Perk was a toddler and Stevie was a 7th grader...You wanna try that one again? You think Omar Sneed (5A Player of the Year in 1995 from Westbrook) was a pretty good player? What about Luke Jackson (1991 Westbrook star, played at Syracuse)? You know a guy named Rashard Lewis (Alief Elsik 1998)? ALL GREAT PLAYERS...ZERO STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS...Its not guaranteed that you will win state with good athletes...THEY HAVE TO BE COACHED TOO.  ;)

Never said he wasn't a great coach. His record speaks for itself but English has ran this district just as much as Boutte did with less talent. IMO he is the better coach.

That is called a FALSE STATEMENT...Boutte won District 20-4A for NINE YEARS STRAIGHT...NOT LOSING A DISTRICT BALL GAME FROM The second half of 1999 until 2004...Then went on ANOTHER STREAK FROM 2004 TO 2008...THAT WAS DOMINANCE...FACT....Your bias is showing, because you are arguing for a really good coach with no championships versus a great one with multiple championships...it just doesn't add up.

I couldn't care less if English does not quite have the credentials as Boutte. That fact that any coach who does not think English is great and can give him credit must have been a clip board toter. English is trying to win district, make the playoffs and see if we can take off, just like any other team hopes happens for them.

How close did you "sniff" a championship as a HC? That's what I thought.

Everybody needs to remember this is the same Dickie that said winning at lamar pa would never happen as long as Bill W was there. Of course one new coach and a year later, we all know hiw good lamar pa has done. So people need not worry to much about his judgement of coaching talent.

A lot of things have to fall into place correctly to win a state championship and there is more involved than coaching.  Dickie- I will suggest to you that Lenny Wilkens was every bit the coach compared to any otherNBA coach you wish to mention and yet he had no championships.

Yes they did...had Jerre and I stayed, we were well on our way as well...Please note, we were brand new to Division I, and had some holdovers from a Division III squad, and held our own in a tough league beating the Conference champ at their place on the way...It is usually a process, but we did not see it through...Jerre knew it was going to be an uphill battle with the AD that was in place, so he took the job in Kansas...NOTE: Jarvis Bernard, Jamar Gulley, and Ryan Donahoe were recruited by us to play at Lamar PA until he went to HCC in Kansas, which is where they ended up going..It was being built...just didnt get to see the fruits of it.

Boutee has won titles and championships, you can't argue with this. Championships are not guaranteed just because you have a 6'9" post player. You need to have the pieces  or puzzle in place as well. English is a good coach but no State championship (s) compare.
