Well, if Livingston is moved out of 20-4A and the district is left with just 7 teams, that will mean that all the district teams except for 1 will have their bye week during district play.

Something tells me that this district will remain with 8 teams, but not necessarily with Livingston included.

Like Grad stated, we will find out Thursday morning. Can't wait!!

[/quote]Ok.  The way it is now that every team in 20-4a have a bye week in week 3 (the week before district).  I'm asking does this mean that this format would remain the same with the exception of ONE 20-4a team?  If this is the case, does that mean that  1 team will get a bye week BEFORE week 3?

If 20-4A changes to a 7 team district rather than the 8 they have now, this would force 6 of the 7 teams to have their bye week during district play. All of the teams would have 4 non district games (week 0-week 3), then 1 team would have their bye week in week 4 (first week of district play), 1 team would have their bye week in week 5 (2nd week of district play) and so on and so on until week 10 where a team will have their bye week.

So, only one team would have a similar type schedule as they have had the last few years (non district games, a bye week, then district games) where as 5 teams would have a schedule of non district games, district games with a bye week in between somewhere. Then one team will have a schedule of non district games, then all of their district games, then their bye week in week 10.

Not necessarally larger schools, but usually good 4A programs. GP, Tx City, Crosby, Brenham, Lamarque, some of the teams played the past 5 years. No 5A's. Quality is more important. WOS, Silsbee are the only local 3A I could see us playing. Jasper has the talent to be a good quality opponent, but I think the problem would be whats the point in going to Jasper (small facilities and a long trip) when we could go to 19 4A and play, get just as much out of it, and not be so sqeezed in.

WOS is going to be good 2012 and really good 2013! And from what I have read Silsbee has a few pretty good Juniors next year, so they should be a good test the next two years.

David Henry from the Enterprise reported on Twitter that so far Vidor has Santa Fe in Week 0 and Bridge City in Week 1.  According to David, he will be headed to Houston on Thursday to try and find more opponents.  He confirmed that Galveston Ball did cancel an earlier agreement to play.

That's what i was  hoping for but i see Jeff is sticking to his old ways. Going for a school that is about 6 hours away. Going for a local one and i'm sure he'll book a powerhouse 3A school for the third game (yes kville  was a power house the year he scheduled them). What i am looking forward to is to see what he's gonna do if he gets to play another non district game.

Sante Fe is 2 hours away, still a pretty good drive in a yellow dog.  They were pretty good a couple of years ago, but were 1-5 in district this year.  The only team they beat was G Ball.

That's what i was hoping for but i guess jeff wasn't feeling it lol. I sure do remember some tough games between us and Silsbee back in the day though. And i always love playing at yall's stadium.
