catfever Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 "3A numbers: 450-1004pitiful! makes a lot of sense....3A always gets screwed in realignment numbers"In my opinion, they need to do something about this. Schools such as Buna, OF, HF in the same classification as schools with more than 1000 students. I realize they may never play any of these schools. Maybe an option would be to add a 6A division. Maybe this could bring up some larger 2A with smaller 3A.

BLUEDOVE3 Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Its not a perfect system. But overall is good
stevenash Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 What I meant to ask for was the paramaters for each classification. As in 1-a is 200-400 etc etc

stevenash Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Does anybody know if the spreads (from smallest pop to largest pop in each division) has changed much from the last one?
AggiesAreWe Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Numbers for classification in last realignment:2010-2011 & 2011 & 20125A 2065 & up4A 990 to 20643A 430 to 9892A 200 to 4291A 199 & below 99.9 & below

AggiesAreWe Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 The difference from top to bottom in 3A last realignment was 559.This realignment the difference is 554.Hardly any change at all concerning that number.

The ratios are similar, but that's a huge gap between attendance numbers. if i have 399 kids at my school, and you have 200, i only have 200 extra students. if i have 1000 kids, and you have 450, i have 550 extra students to find a starting five for my basketball program... that's a HUGE advantage.

The consistent ratios of smallest to largest is the fairest way to set up each classification.
