In my opinion, they need to do something about this.  Schools such as Buna, OF, HF in the same classification as schools with more than 1000 students.  I realize they may never play any of these schools.  Maybe an option would be to add a 6A division.  Maybe this could bring up some larger 2A with smaller 3A.

Are the enrollment numbers available for each classification?

What I meant to ask for was the paramaters for each classification.  As in 1-a is 200-400  etc etc
That's about a 2.2 ratio from smallest to largest.  Not much different than 2A (2.25) and 4A (2.1).

Numbers for classification in last realignment:

2010-2011 & 2011 & 2012

5A  2065 & up
4A  990 to 2064
3A  430 to 989
2A  200 to 429
1A  199 & below
      99.9 & below
Again, that's roughly the same ratio's; 2.1 - 2.3

true, but the difference between 200 and 400 is nowhere near the difference between 450 and 1000.  The ratios are similar, but that's a huge gap between attendance numbers.  if i have 399 kids at my school, and you have 200, i only have 200 extra students.  if i have 1000 kids, and you have 450, i have 550 extra students to find a starting five for my basketball program... that's a HUGE advantage.
that's irrelevant, statistically speaking. The consistent ratios of smallest to largest is the fairest way to set up each classification.
