AshlyHasBeen Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Weird that ESPN is considering UTA one of the TV games when it is actually only on ESPN3.

ForeverADog Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Half the conference has home games this year. Half the conference has home games next year. We are obviously home next year.

Lazeek Posted January 31, 2012 Author Report Posted January 31, 2012 It was predetermined before the season who the home/away teams are. With Lamar heading to George Mason, GM will in return play at Lamar within the next few years.

geezer Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 It would have been nice to get a home game, but I am happy with the outcome. GM is a quality program and will becoming to Beaumont next year I believe (it might be another year or two). If our attendance numbers were higher then I think we could get a home game easier and possibly a tv game in a few years assuming this bracket busters format continues.

AshlyHasBeen Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 The home and away teams were chosen before the season started. Thought they did a good job with the matchups based on RPI's.Also George Mason will have to play a return game in November or December next season according to the BracketBusters site.

They have an excellent basketball program so it will be a very tough matchup. Plus, this is not a school we'd normally have a home and home series with. Someone mentioned wanting La Tech. I didn't want that. I wouldn't mind playing them but they are a regional team that we can schedule any time.

geezer Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 I am an optimist about what Coach Knight has accomplished with the MBB so far. While we may be much less experienced next year I think saying we won't be any good next year is giving to much credit to this years senior class and not enough to the coaching.
