Southeast Texas Quick History

Did some thinking last week about the "dominant" teams in the area and what makes them dominant. Couldn't remember some things about a few "dominant" teams so I'm going to ask general question;

Going back to the turn of the century (2000-present), when is the last time the following teams either won or participated in the State Tournament:

Silsbee:
Hardin - Jefferson:
Kountze: 2000, 2002, (2004), (2005), (2007)
Ozen:
Nederland:

If my memory is correct, HJ won it in 91,07 and lost in the semis in 09. (not sure if 09 is correct but is close)

Silsbee 2008 and 2010. Been to Austin 5 times total as a school.

Ozen: 2001 State Champs, 2002 State finalist, 2003 State Finalist, 2007 State finalist..do I need to include all of the District wins and district titles in a row, because that really wasn't the goal at Ozen. It was the norm..... ;) ;D

How does "one time" relate to two state titles and a loss in the semis?

Evadale has been to state as well about 3 times since the year 2000.

Nope- It is what it is.  However, again if my memory is correct, they have been to Huntsville each of the last 5 years.

My question was the State Tournament. If Regionals is your goal, then I guess you've been pretty successful in reaching it.  ;)

State Tourney appearances were listed before.  Since state titles are not all that common, it might be useful to also point out the "near state tournament appearances".  Five in a row is pretty good.  Know anyone else in this area who has done that recently?

That's not possible.  It's not possible at all that a man with your knowledge/connections could be wrong about how many times ANY southeast Texas team made it to Austin this decade.

By the way they talk...you would think they were... ::) :D....but those type of feats are reserved for the PA Lincolns, the Beaumont Ozens, the Fort Worth Dunbars, the Houston Yates', and Houston Wheatleys of the world!!! Right, Bluedove?  ;D ;D ;D
