Deel was approved 7-0 by the board and will continue to be the HC in Liberty.  Whether that is good or bad, time will tell.

It's unlikely he stays at WB, he applied for the Head Coach job, didn't get it and they hired an offensive guy as their new HC so it's unlikely Douglas stays at WB.

Not trying to hi-jack this thread but long time great black/gold panther rb from the late 40's Sterling Griffin(my dad)passed away after a 9 yr bout w/prostate cancer.Visitation today 4-8 pm @Allisons.His younger brother(my Uncle) Henry Griffin 1949 Liberty male athelete of the year who also got a scholarship for fb @ SHSU to QB/Punt will be in attendance.Burial @ Cook memorial cemetary fri @2 .

Liberty vs HD rivalry ended with 6 straight Panther victories, 4 were while Liberty and HD were in the same district then Liberty began to grow all the way to 4A before going back down to 3, HD Bobcat won't say it but that's where HD's dominance over Liberty ended, and that was in the 50's, those solid 1A playoff teams HD put together in the 70's and 80's couldn't beat Liberty's 70's and 80's 3a and 4a teams.

Terry Don Fregia, Todd Fregia, and Joe Allen Slack. All three people are former H-D Bobcat players, now their kids play for Liberty. If H-D could retain their former players in the community, we would be even better in sports.

No. Teams like in 89 with Douglas at QB for Liberty would have beaten those solid Daisetta teams, this is coming from a guy who's entire family played for HD I know the tradition I know how good they were,they would not have beat Douglas and Mallet in the 80's when we were 4A, and Todd and Terry Don do have kids that play and start for Liberty and they're very talented but I wouldnt say "it takes former HD bobcats to make liberty sports run LOL, that is not accurate at all. THats two starters out of 50+ kids,

In 1989 HD had a good team as usual for back then, they finished 7-3 with no playoffs, Liberty that same year in 4A not 1A, went 6-1-2...Donald Douglas was the QB and was ranked 10th overall in Texas for all positions #3 QB in the state, not to mention his running back James Mallet was going to Arkansas on a full ride, he was also 19 out of the 55 best players in Texas and this 1-5A , all im saying is yes HD has had way more success than Liberty, no doubt but they can't compete with Liberty, THERE NOT SUPPOSE TO, im not bragging by saying oh we can beat a 1A team, it was the HD posters (bobcat55)
that say they could beat Liberty NOW! THAT'S what got me started you can't. And you haven't been able to since then, all this time Liberty has been terrible and Hd has been go you were watching HD on Friday nights not libety, me however ive seen way more HD games than you have Liberty and of course ive seen more liberty games and all im saying is that those good HD teams couldn't beat those bad Liberty teams, and they aren't suppose to,but your living in a fantasy land thinking 1A translates to 5A with ease, it's a way different game from 2A to 3A don't even get me started on 1 to 3 and 4a,

At this moment in time, and for the last 4 years, H-D could not beat Liberty. Although, during my generation H-D could have played with and beat Liberty several seasons.  ;)

The Community of Liberty really doesn't like change, but we need to change the kids attitudes as winners and raise the bar. Instead of settling for the playoffs  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
