Guest speechless Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 no guarantees there will be one
WOSgrad Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012
why do you say that?
Because #1, both H-J and Silsbee still have opponents that on the right night can pull an upset and shake up the rankings.Second, even if H-J and Silsbee remain tied, they can opt for a coin flip.
Dick Vitale Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 And because they both have to win their remaining games... 8)
Lazeek Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012
why do you say that?
Either or both could lose one of their 4 remaining games.
BMTSoulja1 Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Montagne Center. Lets get that HS. Playoff preview off right with Silsbee/H-J!
stevenash Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I can think of no better preparation for the playoffs for Silsbee or Hj than playing each other again, regardless of who wins.
jam14 Posted February 1, 2012 Author Report Posted February 1, 2012 I think we can all say that Silsbee and HJ will win out in district AAW what do you think will happen
ST413 Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Definitely a great playoff warm up but some coaches dont like to play a team too many times in a year. Look at how many coaches try to stay out of tournaments with district rivals in them.
Lazeek Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 If both coaches agree I would love to see the game at Ford Park.

jam14 Posted February 1, 2012 Author Report Posted February 1, 2012 I agree with Ford Park or down at Lamar
AggiesAreWe Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I see both teams winning out in district therefore both ending at 9-1 and co-district champs.Personally, I see no benefit in playing the game. Neither side of the playoff bracket is beneficial, no easier avenue by being #1 or #2 seed other than the #1 seed getting a bye in the 1st round.I think both teams should play a game before the playoffs, just not against each other.
stevenash Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 That first round bye can be considered an advantage and also a disadvantage.

That's where it SHOULD be! 8)

MBaller#1 Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Silsbee vs Houston Yates for a warmup game people would pay to see that right. Lol

Lol
Why would Yates want to play Silsbee? How would that match up prepare Yates for the playoffs?
MBaller#1 Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Just joking but I did ask coach ira brooks if they would play them if they could for a warm up and he said they would play them
MBaller#1 Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Plus their is a rumor that Yates will be 3a region 3 along with wheatly so why not play them we might have to get use to it.
AggiesAreWe Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I never said Silsbee wouldn't play Yates, but I just don't see Yates wanting to play Silsbee. I see no benefit for Yates in that game.
stevenash Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 It's not that far fetched. Hj played Wheatley in a warm up game a few years back.
MBaller#1 Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I'm just saying it may help Silsbee with the same fast pace styles and its also hard to find warmup games so I was just thinking maybe it could happen
Lazeek Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 If Silsbee and HJ finished tied and for whatever reason decide not to play each other, I would love to see Silsbee vs Nederland and HJ vs Ozen/Memorial
