puddleofmudd Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 It really dumbfounds me why a school would have to travel over an hour to each district game, while they pass other same size schools that are much, much, did I say much? Much closer.
liltex Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Tomball gets put into the Ft Bend ISD district?????????????Ouch there will be kids getting home late esp.on weekday sch.events like thurs night w/shared stadium. :o :o
Steven Avery Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 How about the two baytown schools losing BH , Dayton and Crosby to travel to galveston, pearland, friendswood, texas city and santa fe. Talk about some late night travels! All three baytown schools are getting hosed. Sterling was about 200 kids shy of moving to 4a while lee had room for 500-600 more kids while staying 4a. Doesnt make sense.
rollinac Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Example: How many Non-District 4A Schools will GCM pass on their way to Galveston Ball? I counted 9 but it depends on which way you go I guess. That's not to mention BH who is about 10 minutes in the other direction or Dayton 20 minutes...

GCM must go where REL goes.In two years the only thing that would change that is if GCM has 5A numbers (or possibly RSS has 4A numbers. Not happening). The UIL has said you cannot have 3 classifications in a school district. SO, even if REL drops to 3A numbers, GCM must have some growth or RSS must drop in enrollment. If not, REL will have to play 4A with 3A numbers.

badndn Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Livingston! Got hosed again. I hate traveling to Livingston a couple times a year, so I can only imagine what those folks over there feel like having to do it every week! Just flat sux!

In the two year span, they have to make 7 trips to the Triangle in football, 14 in volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball. Last year, Dennison was in their District, which was over 150 miles away. Doesn't that sound like a fun weeknight event.
WOSgrad Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Here's my gripe with the Livingston situation. First, I was one of those that didn't think that Livingston was going to be moved out of 20-4A. HOWEVER, that is because I thought the UIL would keep both 18-4A and 19-4A stable. But you think that if they were going to tinker with those districts as well, that they could have found a way to get Livingston in either 18 or 19-4A. Just shaken my head on that one!
Eazy Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Well, Huntsville doesn't have to wait until the playoffs anymore to get drilled by Montgomery. They can get that over in the regular season.

I don't see Huntsville making the playoffs next year in this new district. New Caney and Porter are no longer around to pad the win totals.
