Trinitard
Why are you so angry with Langston, he is no longer a part of your life? I saw him when he played here in Beaumont and his work ethic as a student athelete was quite impressive. Forgive him and let it go. Seriously
I don't hate the guy. As I said he talks a good talk, and makes himself extremely likable. However there are 2 major faults with him.1) He doesn't play by the rules, and this has gotten him in trouble more than once, and gotten the schools he worked for in trouble.2) He seems to have used a couple of local high schools here (Groveton is the seat of Trinity County, a few towns to the NE) as temporary stepping stones to just tread water and collect a check while continuously seriously looking for something bigger, never with it in mind to actually concentrate on the school at hand and it's best interests, while at the same time training competitors athletes a couple of towns over as well.It would be one thing if the guy had come in and been temporary from the get-go, and did what he could with what he had available until he had to go, but the underlying intent was deceptive from the start, the training of competition was a bit undermining at best, and as at least one of those athletes was the son of a school superintendent of the competing local school it was a bit of a large conflict of interest, and the local coaches who are "permanent" and who could have been in place on a permanent basis from the start ended up out of the job and sitting on the sidelines until after he came and went.As I said he is likable, friendly and talks well, and his assistants have always seemed to worship the ground he walks on. But, while I won't go so far as to say he is or is not an outright cheater he doesn't seem to be a "clean" act either, and ended up wasting time, money and energy for more than one school system. He has some people talking about him like he is the best thing since sliced bread, but his actual record of both sports wins and rule violations disagrees with that.I'm sorry I rubbed you the wrong way, but when someone calls for locals who actually know and experienced Langston firsthand to say something, and then complain and insult when they do, then I understandably take offense at it.Now maybe a college level position was what he has been aiming at all along, since he got fired from UCO. Wouldn't surprise me if it was. Maybe he will straighten up and play by the rules and do well. Don't know and only time will tell.
besbolbenbedygud
What difference do you not see in the NCAA and the UIL. Third time now so pay attention ....... Zero UIL infractions or acusations. And the 'numerous' infractions on the college level happened once ALL at the SAME time .....Dude.............look....... Just cause you didn't get the job the first time ....... Lol. And now still couldn't get it the second time (with out Langston in the mix ) don't mean you have to live the rest of your live worried about someone else's.... There are probably some good doctors you could talk to...... But I'm sure you would have to go outside of trinity for that

Sorry I'm not in the sports profession at all, and never have been. Like I said though, Trinity is a town of 2,500 people, so you could say we've met, repeatedly.UIL and NCAA are two different things, yes I know. In the world of college sports, though, rule violations that can result in getting a coach fired, as in this case, are really a comparison of various types of apples, not a case of apples and oranges.Did he violate rules and policies? yes. Did get get fired for it? yes. Did the college itself admit he violated rules and policies and was fired for it? Yes. Trying to change that, and the obvious documented end to his UCO employment for violations, to different wording like "UIL" is pointless and irrelevant. "He broke those rules but not these"? Seriously? The man broke the rules, got caught, got fired. Then took a demotion down to High School ball, broke more rules, got caught, moved on. End of story.
