jlc2010 Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 SA will be a force for the next few years returning 8 starters on offense and 9 on defense from an undefeated 2a district champion last year
SteelerCzy Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 Agree, this team has all the tools to make a deep run, good luck, except on week 2 when we get to play SA. 8)

No Deweyville for the upcoming season.
casualobserver Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 SA's schedule is not set in stone...I think steelercrazy may be on to something
WOSgrad Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 Coach McDaniel e-mailed me Thursday night that San Augustine had been added to the schedule in Week 2.So at least one coach believes that the 2 are playing!

I am awaiting word from Coach Hubbard, then we will know for sure.
casualobserver Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 Just remember 89Falcon, things are in major flux right now with people trying to fill out schedules. Just because you may have been told one thing on Thursday doesn't mean it held up through the weekend. SA to Harmony would be a trek and it wouldn't be preposterous for a coach to want to get closer to home if possible

Not much difference in the drive between a Deweyville or Harmony trip from SA.
casualobserver Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 All I'm saying falcon is that maybe it wasn't SA who backed out of the Harmony game, maybe Harmony found a game closer to home.
WOSgrad Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 Coach McDaniel emailed me specifically about picking up San Augustine as a Week 2 opponent. Russell McDaniel has NEVER sent me faulty information in those emails. Another coach that has always sent me accurate information is Donald Hubbard. I have an e-mail out to Coach Hubbard and expect to hear from him early next week on the Wolves' schedule. If he responds with a schedule which does not include Deweyville, then I will revisit the issue with Coach McDaniel. Until such time, the word of Coach McDaniel rules in my book.
WOSgrad Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 Per Coach Hubbard via e-mail last night, this is the non-district schedule for San Augustine:Week 0 - Tyler Grace Community Week 1 - OPENWeek 2 - DeweyvilleWeek 3 - GarrisonWeek 4 - HemphillWeek 5 - TenahaCoach Hubbard told me that Harmony was originally the Week 2 opponent but that Harmony dropped San Augustine Friday afternoon after he had revealed the schedule to the team in order to play an opponent closer to them (just like casualobserver had surmised).
