Beaumont, TX (December 4, 2006) The Texas Wildcatters enter the week with a 13-3-2-0 record after completing an amazing road trip with a 6-1-0-0 record. Texas leads the American Conference with 28 points. Olivier Proulx had a league best seven game goal scoring streak and was named In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week. Proulx scored four goals with four assists for eight points and had a plus five. Kevin Baker leads the ECHL with 16 goals and 11 power play goals.

Thursday, December 7 at 7:05 p.m., Friday, December 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 9 at 7:05 p.m. CT vs. Charlotte

The ‘Catters return home for 12 out of their next 14 games starting with a three game series against South Division rival, the Charlotte Checkers. Charlotte comes to Southeast Texas with a record of 11-7-0-0 and trail the Wildcatters by six points for first place in the South Division. The Checkers defeated the Wildcatters in overtime in Charlotte in the first meeting on November 5 by a score of 4-3. The ‘Catters rallied with two late third period goals to help earn a point in the road game. Charlotte is led by Mark Lee who is fourth in the ECHL with 29 points and goaltender Chris Holt with a record of 8-5-0 and a 3.46 GAA.

Tuesday, November 28 at Florida 6-5 Win

The Texas Wildcatters on the strength of Kevin Baker’s hat trick held off the Florida Everblades comeback and won by a score of 6 to 5 in front of a crowd 4,732 at Germain Arena. Baker scored two third period goals including the game winner. It was the first hat trick of the season for the Wildcatters. J.F. David chipped in three assists for the ‘Catters. Brandin Cote and Mike Bayrack finished the game with a goal and two assists. Goaltender Matt Yeats who was runner-up for goaltender of the week honors got his league leading tenth win of the season making 24 saves in the victory.

Friday, December 1 at Florida 5-2 Loss

The Texas Wildcatters lost for the first time in regulation in their last 11 games as the Florida Everblades won by a score of 5-2 in front of 5,919 at Germain Arena. Florida took control of the game in the first period as Chris Lee and Brent McDonald netted goals for the Everblades. Goaltender Matt Yeats was pulled and Miroslav Kopriva replaced him. Yeats was unbeaten in his last 10 starts (9-0-1). Mike Bayrack would get the ‘Catters on the board with a power play goal before the second period ended. Jonathan Paiement scored his first professional goal, but the ‘Catters went down to Florida.

Saturday, December 2 at Florida 3-0 Win

The Texas Wildcatters finished their long 7 game road trip with a stellar 6-1 record after shutting out the Florida Everblades 3-0 in front 7,406 at Germain Arena. Goaltender Miroslav Kopriva made 35 saves for his first shutout of the season and Mike Bayrack scored two goals to help the ‘Catters to their sixth win on the seven game road trip The ‘Catters scored a goal in each period as Bayrack opened the scoring at the 14:33 mark of period number one. It was a power play goal assisted from Paul Albers and Mike Madill. Olivier Proulx scored his eighth of the season from Leon Hayward and Daniel Sparre the 8:54 of the second period to make it 2-0. Bayrack would get his second of the game and 12th of the year at 15:48 of the third with a shot from the high slot to wrap things up and give the ‘Catters a 3-0 shutout win. Texas finished the night 2 for 8 on the power play and held Florida scoreless at 0 for 8 on the power play.

Saturday, Dec. 9 – Ladies’ Night – Ladies can purchase tickets for just $7 at the Box office on the day of the game. Guys can take advantage of the promotion if they come dressed the part.

Friday, Dec. 15 – Playstation 3 Raffle – One Lucky fan will have the opportunity to win the hottest item this Christmas, the Playstation 3 Video Game System from Best Buy.

Saturday, Dec. 16 – Teddy Bear Toss for Tots – The Wildcatters have teamed up with Buckner Children’s Village and the Southeast Texas Toys for Tots for the annual “Teddy Bear Tossâ€! After the Wildcatters first goal of the night, fans will be encouraged to throw new, plush, unwrapped toys on the ice, to be collected and given to the Southeast Texas Toys for Tots program and Buckner Children’s Village. Fans can purchase bears at the Wildcatters office at Ford Arena or at the merchandise booth during the game for $10.
