Both coaches have to agree to flip.  If one wants to play, then you play.  If the coach refuses, then it is a forfeit and the other team gets the better seeding.
This is 100% correct.
Let them play...  for us fans!  8)
If they play, will you show up with a dunk-o-meter?
if he does, i'm bring a smrj meter as well.

honestly not stirring the pot here.  does this have to do with the fact that HJ is a slight favorite to beat them, or what?  what is Sigler's rationale behind not playing for seeding?

1. He is looking for a matchup problem team for his team to be better prepared for. (dominant inside game)
2. This particular year, neither side of the bracket is favorable. So being #1 seed is not as important. no real benefit.
3. Seen HJ enough, would like to play some other teams.

I can understand the injury worry but,  (I don't know how it was then) the first place team now can have a from tuesday until the following friday. I would think you would want a game in there just to stay sharp.

P-R-A-C-T-I-C-E... ;)....At that point in the season, I would not worry about game sharpness...You have played a pre district and full district schedule..I just fine tune at that point... ;)

Explain dominant and who in this area could provide that type of game play to the Tigers.  I think the Tigers make getting the ball to block for any team a very difficult thing.  They deny the pass very well and their help defense is impeccable. You can have twin towers in the paint but if they don't get the ball their size is mute attribute. If it is for rebounding purposes the Hawks slightly out rebounded them in both games.  If I am not mistaking 32 had close to double doubles in both games and the Tigers were challenged when 10 moved to the post or ran the baseline. So what you are saying if HJ plays the Tigers again 32 and 42 should stay on the bench and watch because they do not score 25 per game.  They are not expected to do that, they have their role and do it to the coaches satisfaction or they wouldn't be playing. One last question, what team is Silsbee wanting to prepare, to me it should be your next opponent. Although, your entitled to your comments next time a simple "We just want to a change a scenery" is far better than throwing kids under the bus.

A forfeit means you take a loss, a concession means that you just concede the higher seed to the opponent. Big difference.

First of all, explain how I threw any player under a bus?? ::)

My comments were not my opinion. Those reasons for not wanting to play the seeding game came from the Silsbee coaching staff. I believe they know what is best for their team in getting prepared for the playoffs.

I have seen just about every Silsbee game this year. The teams that have given Silsbee the most trouble is teams that have a dominant post play. WF Rider had a '6"8 post player that Silsbee had a hard time controlling. He had 38 points and 16 rebounds against them. McKinney North, Dallas Kimball and Dallas SOC posed the same problems for Silsbee. Even in some wins this year by the Tigers, they were still hurt by a big. Example: Silsbee's win 64-57 over Hamshire-Fannett last week, the Longhorn's post Cameron Malveaux had 29 points, 19 rebounds and 7 block shots. He was the main reason why that game was as close as it was. First time these two played in district this year, Silsbee won by 40. They had a better game defensively against HF.

I think it is very reasonable for a coach to want to schedule a team for a warm up game that will challenge the weakness of his team. In this case, if indeed Silsbee will be the #2 seed, then they would play Splendora then in the 2nd round face Brookshire Royal who has a '6"7 and '6"6 starting post players. I think Silsbee is confident in their abilities against Splendora but wants to be better prepared for a team that will cause major match up problems for them.

Also, who said anything about Silsbee wanting to play anyone locally. They are looking at playing a Houston area team or up north in the East Texas area. They already have a tentative game set to play 3A #15 Pleasant Grove on Saturday in the East Texas Playoff Preview. Pleasant Grove is in Region II and has a very good '6"8 post player, saw them play in the Sherman tourney where Silsbee played this year.

A forfeit would actually go down as a loss and would reflect in the records, a concession would not.

If one coach wants to play, then two things will happen. They will play the game or the team that didn't want to play will concede the #1 seed.

I think the latter will happen. I don't see these two teams playing the seed game.

A rumor I heard from one of the players, and please remember, not only is this a rumor but it also comes from a teenager is that Silsbee doesn't want to play a seeding game & they will go in as the #2 seed from district 21-3A.
