Low scoring game for the Tigers. Was there shooting that bad? 2 point 1st quarter is bad! Zero for Orangefield in the 3rd even worst.
Unofficially, Silsbee missed their first 6 shots in the 1st quarter - some at point blank range.  They were very tight for some reason; don't know what that was about.  In fact, Silsbee never really looked comfortable at any stage of the game.

If that has to  happen it's good that it did not happen against a playoff calibre team.

In the last two games Silsbee has played a much slower paced game than they should. This team needs to speed the game back up.  The opposing coaches have a lot to do with this slower pace but Silsbee is good enough to force the game to be played at their speed.  A half court game takes away the major advantage Silsbee has (incredible speed) and exposes their size disadvantage. Speed it back up.

Yeah, that.  I've had my worry cap on since the first quarter last night.  Second consecutive outing that the Tigers have been lethargic.

From an alternate viewpoint, perhaps having a couple of games like that in a short span DECREAES the likelihood of it happening again.

Thanks for the encouragement - I'm still worried.  One thing that concerns me is that, as you know, we have a pretty big rotation.  Playing that style it is difficult to have a "Floor" leader in the line up.  And, since I'm confessing, I don't recognize our floor leader in our starting line up.  Oh, I know who plays 1 and who's the 2 and so forth - but usually there is someone on the floor that settles things down.  I can't identify our "Settler."

As scary as it is, I definitely would love to see a Silsbee vs. HJ Regional Final!!!
Hey, HJ - I'm with you on that.  Let's hope so.  But we have to watch out for Yates.  Oh, that's right, Yates doesn't take over all things basketball in 3-A Region III until next season.  We gotta' do it while we can.

Is there any truth to the rumor that region III 3-a will no longer have a regional tourney and automatically send Yates to Austin each season?

We all know Yates is good and will give any team all they've got. But I know that at HJ, even if they are playing the Los Angeles Lakers, they expect to win. No matter who they play, they tend to find a way to battle. I don't know if Silsbee is the same way, but I would expect so. Yates may beat HJ every time they play, but I can guarantee you that it won't be in the fashion they usually do. But I have to say, if HJ or Silsbee is to win State, this would be the year to do it!

I think the chances are pretty good that they will be in Huntsville.
Being that most teams haven't played a team like Silsbee this year (the closest being those who played Navasota, I would guess), this seems somewhat possible... even likely.

The one thing that Sislbee has to avoid is foul trouble.  I'm afraid that is going to be their Achilles Heel.

Yates is appealing the drop to 3A...From all indications, they will be successful too...They were close to the 4A numbers anyway.

If they come to 3A yes they will beat HJ or Silsbee by 25 plus. Just being honest with you guys. No 3A in the state can play them close
::).  You can hand it over to them next year but the Hawks won't ... I expect silsbee feels the same way... I ain't scared...

Much easier to stay in 4-a and face less scrutiny.
Scrutiny? For what?....Sometimes kids just land on your front door...You guys know how that goes, right? It is apparent that there is less scrutiny in some 3A programs as well... ;)
