bullets13
I know that this is far from a cakewalk in the 1st round for Silsbee... but how does Silsbee actually matchup with Splendora? AAW, i know you've seen both teams play. what do you think?

Only team that Splendora has played this year that could come close to comparing to Silsbee's speed is Coldspring and Splendora lost both those games, 56-41 and 61-31. I have seen Coldspring play, they are a little bigger than Silsbee but are not as fast. Splendora does not tend to handle man defense that well.I got Silsbee by 15+. cat001
Splendora plays good tough man to man defense and I'm sure Silsbee will have way more athletes than Splendora, should be a 10+ point margin of victory for the Tigers.

Jason Vela Splendora head coach is very familiar with upsetting 21-3A oppents. in the season of 2005-2006 Splendora beat Hardin-Jefferson and following that next season of 2006-2007 the beat West Orange Stark by a buzzer beater. I say Splendora control the tempo slow it down in the half court and beat Silsbee 65-60 :P

When a defender over plays you going for the steal, the last thing your instincts tell you is to just stay slow and let him catch up with you, and set himself up for another steal attempt. This often leads a team into a running game, which falls right into Silsbee's lap. catfever
It is more than just slowing the game down when you are on offense. You have to make the tigers move the ball while they are on offense as well. The tigers defense can speed things up offensively but a team must try to control the tempo on defense also. BADSANTA
I predict Silsbee 68 Splendora 50. Tigers need to control every aspect of this game. They have slept walked thru 2 of the last 3. After round 1, I'm putting Silsbee on upset alert until the Regionals. If they don't BRING IT, could be a long bus ride home. I know Collins and Brooks would love to take a trip back to state.
