Texas A&M Aggie Baseball 2012 (41-14, 16-8)

#5 Texas A&M(3-0) started off the year with an impressive 3 game sweep of Illinois-Chicago.

OF's Jace Statum started game 2 and went 0-2 with a BB and rbi.  2011 Big 12 POY Tyler Naquin picked up where he left off going 7-12 with 8 runs scored in 3 games. The Ags pitched staff looked great throwing 2 shutouts and only allowing 2 runs in the 3 game series.  All of the reviews of the new park are great, hopefully I can make it to some games this year.



I will try to keep up with A&M and Texas baseball on here this year.  If Basebow can update TCU and GCMPats can do Houston that would be great.

I went to game one of the series on Friday, A&M's pitching staff was picking up right where they left off. Childress even played a little small ball. I like what i saw, i don't know what it looks like though, Illinois Chicago didn't look like much of a team to measure against.

A&M beat SFA tonight 4-3 to improve their record to (4-0) on the young season.


The Ags will play 3 games at home against Holy Cross this weekend.

#4 Texas A&M took 2 out of 3 from Holy Cross this weekend to move to 6-1 on the year.


A&M took game 1 by a score of 3-2 with a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 11th.

Holy Cross won game 2, 7-3 in 10 innings.  Statum was 0-1 with a run, rbi and 2 BB's

Ags won game 3, 8-2 with Statum getting a single in his one pinch hit at bat.

Once inside the Stadium it looks similar to the old Olsen, except for individual sitting for everyone and the added grass sitting down the foul lines, the outside to the field though is completely different, super nice stadium well done by the construction crew.

A&M had a huge comeback to win 14-10 against NW St.  Statum had a walk and a run scored

The Ags took game 2 against NW St handily by a score of 8-1. Statum was 0-1

Over the weekend the Ags swept Michigan St by scores of 7-3, 4-0, & 9-8.

The #5 Ranked Aggies are now 11-1 on the season.

The Ags are looking good so far, Not a incredibly hard schedule though. So we will see in the coming months. They are hitting the ball like crazy right now though and the pitching is doing there job. Brandon Wood suffered a broken nose on Sundays game by running into the wall full stride, almost had a beautiful catch out of it. Hope he can be back by this weekend.

#5 Texas A&M took game 1 from #11 CS Fullerton by a score of 6-1.  Statum finished 1-4 and looks to have taken over the job in left for now.  Game 2 was stopped for weather with the scored tied at 5 in the 10th.  They will finish game 2 and 3 today.

Cal State Fullerton scored in the 11th to win the continuation of game 2.  CSF won game 3 by a score of 4-3 to take the series.  It was a pretty competitive series with one of the better programs in the country.

They better pull there act together against these better teams. We made 3+ errors in the two games i saw. Errors will be the end of us if we don't stop it.

You can hang out in the parking lot behind left field and see the game pretty good, unless they build a higher fence with the new stadium.  We used to have a lot of fun ot there until they quit letting us do certain things.  ;)

The first baseball game I ever went to at A&M was a Saturday game against UT.  There were 7,000 in the game and an estimated 4,000 in the parking lot.  The left fielder could barely see with all of the smoke from BBQ pits.  JJ's liqour was delivering kegs to the parking lot, and people would park their cars a week before the games to save spots.  I never went inside the park until my senior year when they started a lotto for parking spots and banned all of the fun in left field.  Maybe some old timers on here will remember the fun times at Olsen.

Hahah wow.. Yea i have never seen it like that at olsen. School probably won't allow you to do it that big anymore. sounds like i'm missing out on an experience.
