The 33 inch Marruci Cat 5 has been banned in the NCAA due to not meeting the BBCOR certification. The National Federation of State Highschools has not yet banned it from highschool play but Marucci fully expects the NFHS to decertify the 33 inch Marruci Cat 5 from highschool play somewhere in the very near future

Here is a link confirming what you posted.  According to Marruci they will replace the bat if you have purchased one up until March 31st.

The bat companies have made some adjustments. In this interview on Saturday with Coach Garrido, he alludes to that fact.

Saw a number of players on both Nederland and Kelly using El Gato Cinco tonight.  Umpires and coaches are going to have to enforce new rules.  Never understood why a white bat is legal, but white sleeves on a pitcher is not.  Tough for fielders and pitcher to see ball off bat.

I noticed that too, but it is difficult to tell the size from the stands.  If this ban just came out today, it may take a few days for all of the umps to get the memo.  Also if this is a UIL and NCAA ban, does it apply to Kelly?

This is straight off the Marucci website:

DECERTIFICATION ONLY APPLIES TO THE 33-INCH MARUCCI CAT52 BBCOR.
ALL OTHER CAT52 SIZES AND MARUCCI MODELS ARE APPROVED FOR PLAY.

On February 17, 2012, the NCAA informed us that they decertified the 33-inch Marucci CAT52 BBCOR bat. The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has adopted the NCAA’s ruling at the high school level. Effective immediately, the 33” Marucci CAT52 BBCOR bat will not be allowed for use in NCAA or NFHS baseball competition.

Sounds to me like the ban is already in effect for both college and high school according to Marucci.

Yes, it does apply to Kelly.  It is actually a NFHS rule, not a UIL rule.
