Just spoke with the Warner's,  Preston has recieved a concusion, he is currently at home and scheduled to see the physician for evaluation in the morning.  Ball hit 1" above the right temple.  Please pray for Preston's recovery.

It is always scary to see that happen.  It was good to see him get up and walk off of the field on his own.  That is one of the main reasons they went to BBCOR bats this year.  Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery.

Both teams looked good, for first game out. Nederland will be very tough this Year.  Pitching always takes time to sharpen up.  Brown looked good, with fastball hitting 90 and curveball is a great out pitch.  Very impressed with Stampley on the mound as well. Nederland will improve from this game. Kelly bounced back well after going down by 3. Look for good year from both teams. Thank God baseball is back!

Update on Preston Warner... He is in Baptist Hospital in the ICU unit. After leaving the game last night and returning home, his condition began to decline. His parents took him to the hospital and after CAT scan and other testing, they have concluded that there is no skull fracture, but there is some bleeding and swelling. New testing will began this morning.

Spoke with Preston's Dad.  The 9AM CAT scan revealed no further deterioration in his condition.  Which is being viewed as a positive.  Evidently, the first 12 hours are critical in a concussion patient.  Hopefully that means he has turned the corner.  Will remain in ICU for at least another day or two for observation.  For those of you relaying messages through Kelly High School, especially those Nederland coaches, parents, and players, be aware that these messages ARE getting passed on to the family.  The family is most appreciative of the outpouring of support for Preston.  Preston's dad loves this web site.  So keep the prayers and thoughts coming.  They are getting through to the family.
