bmrm Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 In the 3A ranks, with region 3 housing three of the top five spots in the state polls, I believe the 2012 state champion will come from this region - am I crazy?

Estacado, Dallas Madison and San Antonio Houston might have something to say about that!!!

stevenash Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 I have a close associate who attended a LaVega home game about 2 weeks ago. His remark was that they were good but he did not consider them to be unbeatable. He said that he felt as though they scored 80% of their points on full court baseball passes after a rebound.

They have to La Vega games you can see there. In neither game did i fell they scored near that many by that method.

If you have seen several games, are they #1 in the state based upon what you have seen?

To be honest I couldn't tell from the camera angle(fairly high up mostly) how big they were. I did read about there big man, as a football recruit, being 6'4 and somewhere around 240 and from that I would guess they have at least a couple good size guards after seeing them near him. Honestly, they were playing two 4A or 5A schools and both games were close. I am not sure just how good those teams are. La Vega has some talent but I wasn't as impressed with them on tape as I have heard some have been in person.Sorry, I put Royal in there first and it was supposed to be LaVega. I have Royal on the brain at the moment!!

Especially when the camera is far away and up high.
