AggiesAreWe Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012
Have these been posted anywhere?
Here they are:http://blog.beaumontenterprise.com/huddle/2012/02/23/district-21-3a-all-district-girls-basketball/
AggiesAreWe Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Interesting that only one from Bridge City and one from WOS were on the all district teams but three from Silsbee made it.
tjcfan08 Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Congrats to HF Senior Ciara Guilhas, MVP of the District.....It's been fun watching you play....
5GallonBucket Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Realllllyyyyy what a joke .....3 silsbee players off of team that won one game in district and 2 games for the year.... really come on.coaches must have really bartered.if anything delord from HF should ve made it before any of those girls.
Bobkat Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 I agree Orangefield could have had a couple more before Silsbee!!! Megan Burton had a pretty good year!!!
hjhawks Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 I can promise you that there was no "bartering"
Bobcat1 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 I would love to see who all was nominated, that might be why Burton isn't anywhere, Bobkat.
Riding Solo Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Atleast they are not watered down. I also thought Burton had a good year but she kind of faded a little once district rolled around. Maybe that had something to do with it. But I did think she should have gotten something. Maybe she got honorable mention.
The Cook Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Who went to the playoffs in this district?
straycat Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Burton probably wasn't the only one not nominated from OF. You also had some players that stepped it up when district started who were not starters but in top three scoring wise during district. HJ, HF, and OF went to playoffs from this district.
mayhem Posted February 27, 2012 Author Report Posted February 27, 2012 Congrats to Ciara Guilhas! I am going to miss watching you play!
Riding Solo Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 Like I said before, In the past atleast 99% of the starting five of each team made All District. In the past it was so watered down that every kid got a ribbon. Atleast the coaches are going back to a somewhat "Old School" of picking All District. Can someone post the Honorable Mention so we can have a clearer picture? Will not comment on the Silsbee picks. ;D

And in this case.......it should have been from the HJ squad after watching numerous games in this district.
straycat Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 It's a starters world doesn't matter what you do coming off the bench. You could be in top three scoring for your team but if your not listed as a starter and probably not nominated then no one knows about you.
hjhawks Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 I think the superlatives were right on the money...Ciara was very deserving of MVP.....

Bobkat Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Moss, Burton and McManus should have all been honored from Orangefield!!!
