I watched La Vega about 3 weeks ago and I did not think they shot the ball particularly well at all. They are big and fast and defend well. They are good and this game could go either way.

bullets13 Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 the scariest opponent HJ has faced in quite awhile. it sure seems like this was the year that the 2nd seed from our district would've paid off. this game is a coinflip in my opinion. If HJ plays like they did last night, i imagine we'll be seeing a LaVega/Silsbee regional final. If they play well, they're more than capable of winning. I'm actually kind of glad HJ was in a nailbiter last night, because this is likely going to be a close game the whole way through.

FanintheStands Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 LaVega is just another team. We can beat them. They can beat us.But you know what they are saying? Hardin Jefferson has been in Regionals 6 years running! Twice in that run they went on to state, and once they won it. These guys are good!!!! The only team that has beat them this year (on a lucky shot at that!!!! Just kidding Silsbee fans) is also in Huntsville, so these guys are the real deal.So don't let any of their number 1 mystique get to you. HJ will come to play on Friday!

I think Silsbee has been better than the Hawks a few times in those 4 years.

BADSANTA Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 The reason I think HJ will beat LaVega is heart! HJ has the will to win and knows how to play well in close games. Nice job on the free throws last night!

stevenash Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 If you are #1 in the state and have lost just one game (which was a warmup), there is not much chance you will be underestimated.
BigDaddy00 Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 HJ Goin for win number 40!! I know they can win this game too.. I wonder when the last time they won 40 games in a season was?
