Just saw the all district on kogt. Lets see, 10 girls on the first team and 12 on the second team. Wow, these coaches are awesome. Also saw where they had new-comer of the year and sophomore of the year. Why stop there, you might as well name a junior and senior of the year also. Can you say "WATERED DOWN".

SOPHOMORE OF THE YEAR???????????  Seriously???!!  Not to take anything away from the young lady that got it, but this process has become rediculous.  hmmm...lets just give everyone who played a big shiny participation medal....welcome to socialism.

They pretty much did, ha!  do the math.  8 teams times 5 starters is 40.  So you figure almost 70% of the starters got all-district.  If you dont see any issue with that, then its no use continuing the argument.  "Superlatives" just dont mean as much as they used to IMO.

Congratulatons to the girls of 20-4A for a great year in District, the Area, and Region...a strong showing for some great athletes.  Some great competition through the whole district.  (I think that would have been a more proper way to start this thread.) 


  Some of you make pretty good arguements, but I don't really think it matters in the end.  The picks are all a matter of opinion and for sure subject to argument.  There are a lot of things I don't agree with, but for the most part I don't think recognizing more than a starting 5 is such a bad thing.  If you REALLY follow girls basketball you know who the top tier players are.

  (Without going back and looking it up)  Who was the 20-4A MVP, Offensive & Defensive players of the year, and Newcomer of the year from 2 years ago?

ABSOLUTELY ABSURD that any district puts 27 players on first and second team.  It is for the kids but lets make it meaningful to the ones who are actually outstanding!  This has gotten laughable!!  What about the poor few that do NOT make all district......better be careful, we may be hurting someone's self esteem!

Awesome post, see I dont have a problem with the girls who are picked just the number. 21 3A was alot better they had 6 on each team. Actually there should only be 5 but I can live with 6. There is only 5 starters on a team not 10-12. These are all district teams (5 kids) not the whole district. Say what you want be aslong as I am a live I will debate this issue. It is kind of like picking allstars in little dribblers. The first 5 is pretty clean cut but after that the talent level drops dramatically.
