More with less....simple. It should have not even been CLOSE...Brian English is THE coach of the year in 20-4A...Nothing to do with standings as much as accomplishment...I think the HF coach should have been COY in that district, and they came in 3rd...

I'm playing devil's advocate here.  I do think that Nederland, overall, have the better coaching staff.  But what I'm saying is I can see why the Central HC was chosen.  Others on here are saying they don't see how.  My point is give the man a LITTLE credit.  Not saying slop him over with all the praise or credit, but just a little.  8)

I think those two wins had more to do with personnel, than being "outcoached"...Central SHOULD have had three HUGE wins against Nederland...It was one loss, and two games that could have gone either way but the Central players imposed their will at home against them and just refused to lose...There was no REAL game plan to beat them, you know that...He didn't take away anything that Nederland does...Heck, they don't even watch FILM at Central! Nederland had no business being in the gym with Central OR Ozen...But they beat them both, at one point of the year, which put them out front in the standings before talent took over...

[/quote]In the big 15 point win at Central in district, there was a game plan believe it or not.  the nondistrict tourney game at Nederland when only about 7 or 8 players suited up for Central, there was a game plan and decent coaching that went on.

Lackluster?? Heck Soulja, u have been tearing up Ur coach all year! Now u are defending him as to why he deserved COTY?? Does 1 or 2 games in which Central wins overlook the other games when u told all of us he just sits there with no plan? Help me understand, bc I am confused?? ???
DV's point (and others, but they are not credible like DV ;) ) is that central was expected to win Distrixt with all the talent returning from last year (including a top 3 player in Smith) and Nederland lost EVERyTHING from last year except 2 letterman who were Fresh and Soph last year. So English did MORE with LESS!

I know that the thread is about this year, but Im very curious to hear what DickieV had to say about last years Nederland team.. 14-0? This years team = 12-2?

Im under the impression yall think that if English wasnt coaching them, that Nederland wouldn't be in the playoffs.. That the basketball skill in that city is nothing.. What's your take on next years team? Just curious since they are clearly not even close to the same level as the Beaumont schools.. ::)

[/quote]I said I wasn't going to comment on Nederland needs because I don't want to help yall get better  ;D  BUT!!!! Nederland has one major problem that needs fixing. Well a couple of problems. But Coach E can only work with what he got  ;)
