stevenash Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 I didnt look at the video so not sure if there is anything of substance to it or not. I am wondering, though, if the young man's behavior in the rest of the game, might have impacted the decision to eject him? I still believe that the taunting is ultimately counter productive.
Lazeek Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 That is ridiculous!!!!!! I have seen far worse done and nothing done about it!!!

What he did was in NO WAY deserving of a technical foul...That is just ridiculous, and if they allow this ref to do it, shame on them too! Pitiful... >:(
FlyingHawk Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 This is about as equal as the charge call they called on Persohn and Gaines.... :o :o
funkymonkey Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 Not a good "T". depends on circumstances, prior actions by the player, etc., but the tape doesn't give me the impression that a tech was warranted.
east texas bb Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 I usually side against the officials, but from this story there is not enough information to know what happened. You cant watch a 30 second clip and understand the atmosphere for the 2 hour period. It reminds me of the Republican candidate race and some of them showing a TV ad making the other candidate appear in a negative way when it is only a half-truth.So I dont know if it was a good call or not, not enough info, but that is what yahoo and the media like to do, is get people "stirred" up.

He dunked, looked in HIS DIRECTION and was heading up the floor....What the kid can't LOOK at his DIRECTION now? TERRIBLE CALL ON THAT KID.
409boi Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 A silsbee player got a technical for that once for not giving the ref the ball
football Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 Not knowing anything about the flow and the attitude of the game, I say we need this ref in our area. I saw too many times this year: STARE-DOWNS, throat slashes, spoon feeding?, etc. There is no place in SPORTS for this type of showboating or taunting. Hold kids accountable!!!!
Laurie720 Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Being a ref for the last 12 yrs, I can say the short clip doesn't show enough to determine a bad call. I'm the type, if it's a bad call, I'll tell you it is, whether it's ref's in my own chapter or elsewhere, I won't sugar coat it or make excuses for them. But this does not show if the player was previously warned in his actions or if he mouthed something that not everyone could hear! There's lots of facts not known to determine what the ref saw during the game to warrant this 'T'
Honest Abe Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 I did that at least 100 times over my career and never got T-d Up! ;D
east texas bb Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Dickie, I didnt say it was a good call or a bad call. From the looks of it, yes it looks like a bad call. But, being a conservative and having watched and know how the liberal media work, I can think past a 30 second clip with my own mind and see that there may not be enough information to make a conclusion.

If you are going to affect the outcome of the state championship, shouldn't it be on something more concrete than this?

Silsbeealum14 Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 That look like the same Ref that called that terrible charging foul on Silsbee the other night !!! Lol
ndn2016 Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 it appears to me that the ref who made the call was behind him and could not see what was going on with facial expressions, etc.
