PhatMack19
Was hoping not to get a play in game, but it is a chance to win a tourney game. The game will be Wednesday night at 5:

CThoops
Pretty bad to get a play-in, but at least Lamar is playing.. Tough game if they win anyways against North Carolina
Javelina
Play in game for any team is a slap in the face. But I think if you win your confrence tourney you shouldnt have to play in, make the bubble teams play in
PhatMack19
I wonder if some of that has to do with tv ratings. Pat Knight and his rant will be plastered all over ESPN and they will be the only game on TV.
LamarTech
Harvard is higher than we are?...they don't even play a conference tourney in the IVY LEAGUE...because we had more losses to Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio State and Geo Mason? Did Harvard play any of those?
Javelina
Harvard was ranked real high early in the season, I believe they beat Florida State which won the ACC tourney
LamarTech
Vermont played only two games outside of the US Northeast...South Florida in Tampa and St Louis...lost both...they only have 2 seniors and 3 juniors...the rest of the team is under-classmen...we should match-up well with them. bullets13
I thought lamar might get a 15. i'm very surprised they ended up in a playin game. that being said, now they have a chance to win a tourney game. they wouldn't have a shot if they were a straight-16. LamarTech
At least this year's Lamar Cards have a number 1 seeded youtube video! ...as for as Harvard having a better year than Lamar, suggest you look at their schedule...we lost 11 and they only lost 4...but again, look at their schedule...wonder what our total losses would be against that schedule...this is the same argument that surfaced when Pat Knight said no-more D2s and D3s and weak sisters...perhaps at the end of the day, strength of schedule hurt us in the selection committee... Lazeek
Lamar opened up as a -3.5 point favorite over Vermont.
ForeverADog
Are you kidding Lamar Tech? Harvard beat Florida State, UCF, Utah, and St Joes. I don't think Lamar could beat any of those teams. There schedule was just as tough as ours!
82 5A State Champs
I'm really proud for Lamar, this year, but I'm sorry, if you win your conference, you should be automatically in the Tournament. What is this "play in" BS? Lamar has 23 wins! The last time they made the tournament, they got in with a 15-15 record! This is totally disrespectful to Lamar, IMO! The NCAA selection committee is a joke, plain and simple......and I hope Lamar crushes Vermont!

82 5A State Champs
My point is, Lamar is a conference champion. They should be IN! If the NCAA wants to have a "play in" game, give it to the lowest seed out of the Big East, and make them play their way in. Doesn't the Big East have like 8 teams in the tournament? Conference champions should be in, period!
coachacola
These are no longer considered "play-in" games. Lamar will get credited for a tournament win if they beat Vermont. But what I don't get is how Norfolk State and Detroit get 15 seeds when neither team won the regular season, just their tourneys. Neither team really has a marquee win, but they do have some solid wins which Lamar does not. I think what hurt Lamar is going 0-6 against top-100 teams and having some bad losses in conference (like to Nicholls State).
