Wow, tht is crazy. What about sports like baseball and basketball that have games on weekdays? You almost have to leave the day before a game and find a hotel. Heck, what about a tuesday night game that ends at 10 pm? The furthest trip on a bus, the kids wouldnt be back to Odessa untill 5am.

It is crazy, but keep in mind our West Texas brethren have been doing this for years and think nothing of it, it's just the way it is.    I have had discussions with some of them about the travel concerns over in SE TX and they are amused to say the least.

That is insane! 

Pats I drove to South Shore Harbor Friday to work on boat and it took me 2 hours from Baytown.  Their had to have been 3 million soon to be intoxicated people from Dayton and Beaumont headed that way.  Someone must have told them they had free dental work during the weekend.  Not sure.  ;D ;D

No sir they were having a garfish tournament there.Requirements kayak w/bow and arrow/reel attached.1 fish weigh in,length over 3',boating fish w/net prohibited ;D ;D

Sorta misleading...
This year they travel to
El Paso - Non Dist
Abilene - Dist
Amarillo - Dist
Abilene again - Dist
Lubbock - Dist

Next year they mostly travel local
Odessa High
Midland High and Midland Lee
They do go to Friendship (near Lubbock) and San Angelo

But Amarillo really gets shafted! All of their away games will be 350 to 600 miles round trip year in and year out.

It's not the trip to Galveston that is so bad.  It's the dodging the gun fire in the stands that is the difficult part.
