AOO7

HD Bobcat55 your insane. I can almost see your argument that HD has had better teams in the past, but more athletes? There is no way. As a 4 then a 3a we've had way more athletes than HD, I can honestly say there is more athletes on the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 panther teams than in HD's history, with Ryan Melton 6ft6 260 D1 Commited to Texas State, 6ft o linemen Jon Lacefield Commited to Texas Lutheran, 6ft6 219 pound qb Daniel fitzwater, 6ft3 sophomore WR Aaron Mosley, 6ft4 TE Jake Vaught ( offers at the next level but may take an academic route) Jordan Jones(no need to tell you about him you should already know) 300 pound d tackle Omar tebo went to state in powerlifting in the highest weight class, a lot of talent here at liberty whether or not Huffman and Cleveland want to acknowledge that is their own problem because if Deel can get these guys together they will be dangerous, also Dionte Robinson has speed like no other he would our run Chisholm Marberry with boots on, and unlike you I have seen all of these guys play as well as all of the 2010-2011 Bobcats.
H-D top players vs Liberty top players. Hands down H-D would win! Remember I'm talking All-Time top players. Not just since 2000. The Top 25 H-D Bobcat Football Players of All Time IMO Revised: 1. Ross Echols(Texas), 2. Gene Walker, 3. Parnell Lykes, 4. George Westbrook, 5. Anthony Landry(Army), 6. Ed Taylor(Baylor), 7. Joe Allen Slack, 8. Juan Gamez(Ranger), 9. Stepheleon Whitfield, 10. Tony Thibedeaux, 11. Robert Tanner, 12. David Cooper, 13. Arnell Lykes, 14. Larry Eaglin(Houston Oilers), 15. Jim Arceneaux(Sam Houston), 16. Ahmad Lambert, 17. T.J. Walker, 18. Thomas Rodgers(UTEP), 19. Eric Redfern, 20. Sedric Broussard, 21. Ashante Allen(Cisco), 22. Stevie Broussard, 23. Kenneth Winters(SFA), 24. Johnny Downs, 25. Brandon Broom(SFA)Don't know where they all went to college.
None of those guys were top ten in the Fab 55, as was Donald Douglas, he was better than anyone on that list, played QB for The University of Florida as a true freshmen. Anthony Chambers, I don't need to tell you about him he is on your HD staff and better than anyone to ever play for HD, but just incase you forgot he played for Purdue where he was the return specialist/WR and returned a punt for a touchdown against Penn State, Reggie White went on to play for Oklahoma State where he rushed for 1000+ as a junior then declared for the NFL draft. Tony Bua left Arkansas as the all time leading tackler in school history, and had one of the most memorable blocks in NFL history where he knocked out two guys in one blow. Not to mention countless division 2 and 3 players every year that come out of Liberty, even when were down, those 1-9 teams had guys like James Freeman go and play for Tarleton, Jeremy Dickey Texas State, Josh Sell Texas State, August Roberts Howard Payne, Jon Lacefield Texas Lutheran, and many others, the past season your best player (Chisholm) is going to a school in the middle of no where, while we have one going D1 to Texas State, another to Texas Lutheran, and 6ft4 Tight End Jake Vaught has an offer from Trinity, with 6ft6 219 pound Fitzwater and 6ft 300+ pound Omar Tebo #6 in the state power lifter while running a 4.9 as a junior both players sure to get D1 offers. Overall, Liberty has not only had way more players go on to play college ball, but more successful players as well.

H-D BOBCAT 55
Coach Finney turned the Maud program around when he was there. Coach Finney had a record of 38-11 in 4 seasons at Maud, also two of his players from that team went on to start at TCU. Coach Finney has an average of 9-3 in last 5 years as Head Coach, 45-15 overall. Sounds like Coach Finney's great program and H-D's pride/tradition will be a great mix. My brother will be playing for him this year at 6'4 215lb/Sophomore, my son will be playing 7th grade this year 5'8 220lbs.

dawgs20
If none of those kids would play for Coach Slack i would ask why. He is from there and should have had all the kids that want to play on the team. Unless they cant play, the new coach will have his hands full there unless they have move inns are, there was kids there that would not play for Coach Slack if that is the case then there may be something wrong, if the kids would not play for the hometown coach
BOBCAT@3D
Now and then you have to chip off the rust to see the holes. Sometimes change is good for everyone. The New coach will do fine in HD and the kids will be ready to play. There is BIG talk in HD and the kids are getting hungry for a play-off run. The numbers were down in Teague a 2A school, and in just one short year he had over 140 kids from the 7th grade to the HS level playing football that is incredible numbers for a school that size. Win district and get a bye, 1st playoff game will be against district 10 runner up more than likely which will be Alto/San Augustine loser. H-D BOBCAT 55
Had the honor of meeting with Coach Finney this afternoon. Very sharp and professional. Real down to earth and easy to talk to. H-D has not seen an off season program like this since Coach Skidmore was here. H-D will get back on track and soon. Coach Finney has a proven formula for winning and the H-D School board, along with the community leaders have bought into it. H-D is finally willing to spend some money and upgrade many things for our kids. Good job hiring committee, I was very skeptical at first. Good hire.
