I looked at the Nautic Star boats that Texas Marine has out at the fair right now... These seem like very nice boats. Any thoughts you want to share on bay boat brands? What to look for? What to avoid? Dealers to avoid? I'm thinking in the 18' range with a 90-115 hp
bh89-2 Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 Those are very nice boats. Can't go wrong. Go with a boat retailer that's been around a long time. Don't just look at the boat, crawl under the consoles, battery boxes, etc........ See how the thing is wired, including trailer. Some boat manufactures send their boats empty to a dealer and they rig them. A friend bought one from the dealer next to the Pampano Club and within 1-year I had to re-wire it. Really bad work.

vhs Posted March 31, 2012 Author Report Posted March 31, 2012 Test driving a Nautic Star 1810 from Texas Marine on Wednesday and if everything goes well I will be picking out a trolling motor and depth finder. Hope to have it in the water next weekend.
