MIF04 Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 Anyone have any details on the 2 games LCM played on Friday? Thanks.
ESPN Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Santa Fe beat LC-M 5-4 from what i hear on the final day.
Bears Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Day 2 and the final day for the Bears ended 1-2, Details: LCM 11 El Campo 7; WP-Dugas(1-0) Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead but the Ricebirds came back to take a 5-3 lead in the 4th. Adams was replaced by Dugas on the mound for the next 3, during that time the Bears got a GS HR by Ehlert(2) and doubles from Martin, Womack,Lemoine, and Dugas to take the lead 11-5. Schnieder stays hot with another 2 hit game. Martin replces Dugas to start 7th and finishes it off. Brenham 10 LCM 0; WP-Kankel LP- Dugas(1-1) This score does not do the game justice as it was a duel between the LH Kankel from Brenham and Dugas from LCM. At the end of 4 the game was 1-0 Cubs with both pitchers only giving up 1 hit. Kankel had 8 k's and Dugas had 6. Bears go to the pen and the Cubs got hot hitting a GS and a 2 run HR to finish the game. LCM 4 Santa Fe 5; Ehlert started this game and held the indians without a hit until the 4th, Bears put up a 3 spot in the third with back to back to back singles from Dugas, Schneider, and Lemoine followed by a sac. from Ehlert and rbi single from Rowell. Bears go to Womack in the 7th but indians rally to win. Bears are 8-4 and travel to HJ on Tuesday before opening up at the Jasper Tourney Thursday. The team is working hard but still searching for a spark to get them on a roll heading into District.
espn2 Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Thanks for the scouting report Bears. Please keep us informed on who is hot so we can pitch around them as the season goes on.
MIF04 Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Although I doubt Griff is very happy about a 2-3 weekend, I think the tourney shows the Bears are fine 'at the top' of their lineup and rotation, its just the depth down the line. That should bode well for them once District starts. Plus, they played some very good teams in this tourney.
Will11 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Looks like Bryan was the class of this Tournament beating #2 Mongomery and #5 Brenham, now thats one hell of a tournament...
