Todd Dodge To North Texas!!!! It's Offical!

No, not serious at all. I hope he sticks around a while for UNT's sack, but a couple of good years and he could be headed for a coordinator job. You can figure on him being there for 4-5 years. First season and then through his son's 4 years if he "gets" him. Does he have any more QB's coming up in the family?

He will do well......UNT athletics is on the upswing.......Timing is very important to be successful in coaching......his timing is excellent.......

You need to check your figures on salary......he did not make $100,000 a year in salary nor did he make that with all the extras.......the UNT contract salary is $2,000,000 over 4 years I believe.....And no, I do not coach at SLC and am very far removed from direct information so I may be wrong......

Let me tell you about story about a man named Jed. In 1990 the Marshall Mavericks won the state title under a man name Dennis Parker. After which Mr. Parker was a really sought after man from all over the state of Texas. He then was offered the head job at UNT and took it only to be fired. I realize that Coach Dodge has won many more games than Parker but let me tell you guys much more pressure on this level as many of you know.

He will have his hands full no doubt. How successful was Dennis Parker before he won at Marshall. I don't remember Marshall being the type of program SLC is currently. He will be able to get decent players to win the Sun Belt title consistently, but I don't expect them to give Texas fits. Now the NOLA Bowl against Rice every year or two could be another question.

Todd will do great at UNT. He will have QB's from all over the state wanting to play for him. His summer QB camps at SLC draw QB's from all over the southwest. If he can get the QB's then the WR's will follow.

UNT athletics is growing significantly in the area of fund raising and capital for growth. In order to keep the momentum a coaching change was in order and I think they made a wise choice. Todd had coached there in the past and with his name recognition he gives them instant credibility to grow the program with the current level of financial interest. Great move by UNT.

The Mean Green will be atop the Sunbelt in a matter of 2 or 3 years. And they will do it with an offense that puts lots of points on the scoreboard thus making it fan friendly and thus alumni / capital growth friendly.
