cooligan Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 Good teams find ways to win when they need to. A good team makes the clutch plays when the game is on the line. Ned was the better team last year and proved just that when they had to. It should be a shoot out again this year. It is hard to predict what Bolinger would have done against Ned, for he wasn't a factor prior to getting knocked out. Instead of the party with ifs and buts, maybe some should focus their energy on the upcoming game.
WelcomeToTheBoneyard Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 Hey i'm proud of our boys. Third round of the playoffs and they left it all on the field. In my book you can't get any better than that. Angleton may have won that game but Vidor didn't lose. That's for sure. Could't have said it any better "mytwocents"...It was hard leaving the game that night, I just wanted it to continue. They may have lost, but they lost with HEART. Coach Matthews has done so much with all the sports, and has even taught the community some things as well. Cannot wait for the season to begin!!! Ready to see what my nephew, Stevenson, will do.
scapegoat Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 Gave it away, give me a break.I guess you could say we gave it away in the first quarter. When we threw two interceptions inside our own thirty.Vidor had less than forty yards of offense the whole first half and had 10 points.I guess we can say we "gaveth and we tooketh away".Sure was a exciting game.

phunter308 Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 It was not a give away or a take away. Ned had the same thing happen to them against BH. They made one more play then we did when they needed it. It was earned. A lot of good teams had close battles last year. We should all be proud of the way all of the teams competed. On that note can't wait till next season to see these battles rage again. I know a bunch of hungry DOGS that want to defend that which they one last year and bring a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP home to Nederland .
akifan94 Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 As a PNG fan I know Nederland is the clear favorite to win district. After that the remaining three teams will be a crapshoot. Just for giggles.2. PN-G3. Vidor4. Livingston / OzenPN-G will only be as successful as the QB play allows them to be. They have plenty of size and skill players but I was told that AJ has issues "throwing a catchable ball". If he develops some touch and accuracy he has plenty of arm strength to get the job done. I can say for a fact I speak with one of the smaller kids on the O-line pretty often and he is about 6'0" and in the 250 to 260 range.

It's pretty obvious you got the Mayes numbers from iPreps, but did not use iPreps for Bollingers totals. Real convinient. I ain't got a dog in this fight, no pun intended, but if your trying to say that losing Bollinger was why you lost to Nederland, then you are just like all those other Vidor sports fans that claim that it's the coaches fault or it's the officials fault or an injury's fault, but never give credit to the fact that the other team was just better! It happens. Last year we had a shot to beat Nederland, but it didn't happen and there were many things we could point to, but in the end they were just better than us (not by much ;D).
BMTSoulja1 Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Just a random question, 20-4a brothers... When was the last time that you remember Central missing the playoff for 2 consecutive years? We missed the playoffs in 2004 only to win district title the following year. We missed the playoffs in 2007 only to make a 4 round playoff push the following year. Last year, we missed the playoffs... this year... ????? ;) ;) 8) 8)

Lions#80 Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 It will be nice to see Central back in the middle of the playoff hunt, because last year there was a big drop off with lots of young talent. Steven_A_Smith Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 I think that Central is capable of making the playoffs, but they can't rely on Mitchell running the ball nearly every down simply because he is there best player. Everyone said that he would be bound to get hurt if he ran nearly every play and that is exactly what happened. When will Central open up their offense? 'Quite Frankly' I think the 20-4A district title is a toss up. Vidor and Ozen have teams that believe and they have talent to make some noise. PNG is my sleeper.

cooligan Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Not to worry my good buddy Soulja. I see the district similar to you. 1) Nederland 2) Vidor 3) Ozen 4) CentralHowever, I do see the #4 spot being up for grabs between Central, Livingston, and possibly LCM. I believe PNG and Lumberton will be at the bottom. Two years ago I made the comment we were all going to see how good Faircloth really is in 2012. I just don't think they have much in their stable. Time will tell. Good luck to all.
