CRUSHCOACH Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 If LCM would have shown up for the 1st quarter they would have won the game. However, they didn't and as a result the girls were down , I think , 9 -0 after the quarter was over. LCM had a very POOR shooting performance and PNG seemed to hit everything they put up, especially in the 1st half. LCM was also hurt with stupid fouls. They had at least 3 of the 5 starters with 4 fouls for the majority of the game and eventually lost 2 starters. Hats off to PNG they had a good game plan and they just out played LCM. After the Orangefield Tournament I thought LCM was finally starting to come together, but after last night, it's obvious they still have a long way to go.
Slam14 Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 Ditto CRUSHCOACH, The first quarter put the Bears in a hole that they never really recovered from. Even as bad as it was, we were lucky to only be down by 9 starting the 2nd quarter. LCM's shooting percentage had to have been extremely low from both the field and the stripe. Poor free throw shooting continues to haunt us. LCM is very young and it shows in some of the fouls we commit...we have to grow out of that. I think T. Denton played hard and has finally fully recovered from the bad ankle sprain that put a damper on the start of the season for her. K Harrell played well and did a good job of pushing the ball after Ashley got into foul trouble early. I agree with you that after the 3 straight wins in the Orangefield tournament that I thought LCM was on their way...and they still may be...but last night was a step backwards. PNG had a good game plan and executed it. LCM got suckered into playing PNG's game and got away from attacking PNG's weaknesses. District wins are hard to come by, this should have been one.
BeAr BaSkEtBaLl Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 LC-M will get them next time...
