whsalum Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 I have fished out of the Pine Island ramp with a 19 ft bass boat and 150hp johnson for years. It's about a 15-20 minute run down to Big Cooks Lake or the Neches River. If you are gonna fish a weekend day tournament you can launch out of Colliers Ferry at the end of Pine Street and have a top notch ramp and a great weigh in place.I think you can lock thru the salt water barrier even on the weekends.Pine Island is a pretty open run with the exception of a few dead heads around where the LNVA canal crosses it.

whsalum Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 10/4 I wasn't bad mouthing your choice,I just didn't know if some of the posters had ever put in at Colliers Ferry. They really did a nice job when they rebuilt that park.I haven't fished down there yet this year but unless it's changed ya'll should look forward to catching a ton of bass.Usually you will catch 20 short fish to every keeper but it make for a super laid back day on the water.
