bh89-2 Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 uspect Brenham will be fired up and focused tomorrow. I predict a Brenham blow-out and a game three. Try a little reverse sportsology here.......

Bud Kilmer Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 Thats the point "dude", the more free bases you give up it only takes a hit here or there for disaster. I would much rather a pitcher throw strikes and give up hits while giving your D a chance to make a play then give up 9 free passes. It didnt cost them this time but thats exactly what gets you beat against teams this deep in the playoffs....dude

Letting starter get rest for possible game 3.
lol the starter that had 6 walks and 3 Hit batters? Monkeynuts Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 Two many errors Brenham- bring it with Stegent and get this series even and clean up the errors. Go Cubs
Eagle11 Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 Just got back home. I am not sure why Brenham did not go with their ace tonight. Brenham was extremely sloppy in the field tonight. Long was flirting with disaster all night but seemed to get the play he needed every time.Should be a very good one tomorrow night. BrenhamFan, enjoyed the dinner before the game

I'm not sure why Long had a freshman that hasn't seen much playing time all year, starting at the hot corner for the biggest game of the year, but he did. He was responsible for 2 or 3 errors, but a few of his team mates were too. Just an uncharacteristically sloppy game all around by the Cubs. If I'm looking for a silver lining here, I'd say the heart that our guys showed. Down 7-0 in the 6th, we could have packed it up, but we put 5 runs up and made it interesting. We have Stegent throwing tomorrow, who's coming off of a nice performance in his last outing against LCM. I'm sure the ride back won't be too pleasant, and Long will have the boys primed and ready for tomorrow. Look for Brenham to bring their A-game now that our backs against the wall. BH was the better team tonight, and showed it, except for Long's control issues. It's win our go home tomorrow.... Should be a great environment!
BHFAN Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 Can't win with that many Errors this time of year and like BrenhamFan stated the cubs will bring thier A Game tomorrow! Stay focused Eagles it going be a good one today!
TradinUp BH Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 Congrats BH! Now finish it. Brenham has been in this spot the last couple of years and can bounce back. Step on their throat and take game 2. Good luck BH.

BrenhamFan Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 One game at a time, Cubs. Let's take care of business tonight, then focus on tomorrow....

Good pitching, good defense and they are knocking the cover off the baseball. It may take 3 games, but BH wins this series.
Eagle11 Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 If I were the coach, I would be real tempted to go with Leggett in game 2 against Stegent and if Game 3 happens throw Thames. If it goes 3 I believe the pitching favors BH. Leggett looked really good in the 7th.

Sometimes people like it, and sometimes they hate it, or get "annoyed". Either way, I give my opinion. Looking forward to tonight's game!
tin cup Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 You are 100% correct Mustang32, BrenhamFan is a class act and yes it does still sting. I have a feeling that the present BH coachwon't use freshmen as courtesy runners in an area playoff seriesand waste 5 baserunners as happened in that 2009 one game playoff imposed by the UIL because of the "swine flu" scare. A 3 game series would have been sweet. Good luck to BH and may everyone travel safely to and from tonights game.
