The Deer have been fundamentally sound in the trenches for quite a while. I don't think I'd be so quick to dismiss them. Add their fairly balanced attack and they're a tough out for anyone in 21-5A.

Either way it goes...deer get beat by LP and thus their season ends. Besides, if they do make the play-offs, they won't make it past the bi-district round. They haven since the '30s.

If my memory serves me correctly, I do believe that same PAM STAFF came back and beat LP. Which got them 1 game closer to the state game. I believe that was 3 games closer than the Deer got.

DP puts out a solid team, the issue is they been in that Pasadena district where the competition isn't great and which leads them to being unprepared when playoff games come a calling.  I predict DP will have a .500 district record at best, anyone disagree?

unless you count 2011 when they beat WB in Bi-District

The Deer will also have to adjust to 21-5a. Good Lawd we have seen some of the teams that Pasadena district have put in the playoffs the last few years. I think adding the Deer to 21-5a will be a step up in getting the Weak District tag removed from the 21-5a. ( We all know that it's impossible for the distrct to be weak and both Reg Finals team come out the same district)
