His contract was renewed? & for how long?
[/quote]
I believe he has one year left in his contract. Rumor around town is if he performs well this season then it will be renewed. However, this is small town talk so I would not place to much credit on this. With that being said, I fully support Coach Deel and think he is a good coach and a great guy who really cares for the players.

with the explosive offense returning if liberty can just field an average defense they will make some noise in 22-3a. Also don't expect them to just roll over to jasper and newton. Coming of a 7-3 record these boys are ready to take the next step.

Next step beng WOS in the first round, but I am sure y'all will get them this year.... Esepcially with all the D-1 players you have...

If they make it to the playoffs. Cleveland still has a good chance to beat them out for the third spot again this year.

Truth is, the super that did him a solid by hiring him instead of Chad Taylor a few years ago just left Liberty.  She was the one protecting Deel.  He is a sitting duck.  Liberty will go 4-6 this year and he will be looking for a coordinator job next spring.

If they "make noise" in 22-3A they should beat Newton handily and defeat Jasper as well.

Nope she wasn't.

Deel was hired in April 2008:

Now former Liberty ISD Superintendent Cynthia Lusignolo did not start as superintendent until 2009:

Liberty will make noise! anyone can win any given night! this liberty team will be best this town has seen in awhile. A much worse liberty team took down the almighty falcons just 3 seasons ago.

Congrats yall beat Huffman once in the last 4 years!!!! Even with that loss Huffman has beat liberty by an average of 38-13 since we moved back down.

Awww snap, Liberty must have made some noise in 7 on 7!!!! ;D ;D ;D

This is the time of year when Liberty fans begin to get their hopes up due to 7 on 7. They fail to remember that there is no contact in 7 on 7 and that football is 11 on 11. Same as last year, then they beat some of the terrible teams and think they can beat Huffman, next they get beat into submission by the Falcons and either miss the playoffs or get smoked as the mandatory 3rd seed that did not deserve to be in the playoffs.

    • It’s been awhile, but I seem to remember 5 D starters out & 2 O starters out (OL). A big difference is that Simon wasn’t involved yet. He’s totally changed LP’s rushing attack from last year as a bruising, explosive addition to Barnes, Sandolph & Bright. Last year—and early this season—LP was missing that element. Now, Coach Berneathy is not making talented players wait like many other coaches & even his predecessors at LP. If the kid can produce at the varsity level, they’re moved up. And man, has Simon produced! Over 1200 yards & 20 TD’s in less than a full season so far! It’s allowed LP to alternate RB’s where Barnes doesn’t take all the pounding. Barnes and Sandolph are also able to split out as receivers as desired to add threats that weren’t really an option last year. The PNG/LP game was a full-on tilt & good for both squads. I remember Gary Joseph in the end zone giving his son pointers as an extra set of eyes since he’d had experience with LP in past PO matchups. That was a good game. The score wasn’t really indicative of the game. Not sure anyone felt it was over until the final whistle! Good luck to y’all in Cajun Country. Bring back a win for SE Texas. (Yes. La Porte is still SETX. Ha!)
    • SEC fan bases before Texas got there: “The horns aren’t ready for this. Every week is a battle.” SEC fan bases after Texas arrived: “Texas has the easiest SEC schedule ever!” SEC fan bases after every one of their teams has lost to one or more SEC teams from the bottom half of the standings, many of whom Texas beat comfortably: 🤐
    • With a big win against the rival to close out the year… look to see Lamar make the playoffs next year
