jenks Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Popovich. Jackson always had to have a superstar to win. Pops gets it done with a team.

Guest basketball2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 you have to have great players to win championships!!! Also pop and phil had horry and he hit alot of big shots for the spurs and lakers, also steve kerr played for the spurs on the 99 championship and will purdue

These guys are superstars.[/quote]I wouldn't say that duncan is much more different than kobe or michael. Just look at there stats. Kobe has 29484 total points while duncan only has 22558 point but duncan has 2469 blocks. That's more than kobe with 594 and jordan with 893. Duncan also has a better field goal percentage (.507) than kobe (.453) and michael (.497). Plus Duncan has more offensive rebounds (3292) than michael (1668) and kobe (1384) combined. And the same goes with defensive rebounds. Kobe has won 5 rings. Michael has won 6 rings. Duncan is only one behind kobe with 4. That, IMO, put him in the same category as Kobe and Michael.
Guest basketball2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 Lol duncan is nowhere near jordan lol!!

You can't compare a SG to PF and say they are not even close. Is Jordan one of the best to play the game? Yes...but so is Tim Duncan. What PF in history would you take in front of Duncan? Duncan would be my first choice with everything he can do. I'm pretty sure Phil won with two superstars and role players everywhere else on all his championship teams. Papa has done it with 2-3 superstars and role players everywhere else. Both are tremendous coaches but I'll take the one with 11 rings.
