HJ and Silsbee coaches and ADs get together and discuss the difficulties they have had in their home and home series. They mutually agree to move the games to a larger venue. They agree to share the extra expense and/or split the additional revenues that are a result of the game. stevenash
How can I answer that? I am not sufficiently "learn-ed" about this game and I have that old fashioned belief that you can compete against better athletes if you have sufficient skills and mentality. I can think of nobody better qualified to answer your question than you.

Funny, though, I have no recollection of them running HJ out of the gym with their speed. Seems like HJ had enough skills to offset their shortage of athletecism and I would be willing to compare the HJ basketball IQ to most any high school team that steps on the court. I understand the fascination with Yates. For it is your last and final hope you can use to possibly discredit HJ basketball program. The weak schedule suggestion didnt work. The lack of sport specific off season training failed. In fact, their record suggests that you are wrong on all of your contentions. However, if you can just get to that HJ-Yates contest, you can tell everyone you were right. And if for some reason an upset takes place with HJ getting the win, we stand ready for your credible announcement that HJ would have no chance against the Longhorns, Aggies, or Rockets. BADSANTA
I can remember back in the 1996 and 97 seasons Silsbee ran HJ out the gym! Some of those scores were like 87-51, 79-43, 69-

Not sure what that has to do with what is going on now, but if it makes you feel better, go for it. I also remember that year for another reason, an HJ basketball player participated in the state finals in two separate sports in Austin.

I would also venture to guess that this event will likely pay for itself in terms of revenues from the gate vs expenses for holding the games at Ford Park. Team Game
i would think the biggest reward for this game being played at a larger site would be getting inside the door to actually watch the game. Especially for anyone that had to leave work early or not go to work at all just to have the opportunity to watch their team play. It drove me crazy not making it to the game in Silsbee last year. Although I was thankful that I could listen to the game, I would have much rather have been inside watching it. I made sure to be at HJ to get in line at 3:00.
