BLUEDOVE3 Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Thank God, we don't play AAU anymore:) Just summer ball now. Heard about this some time ago.

Steven_A_Smith Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 'Quite Frankly" I never liked AAU. Now it seems to be a side hustle for some of the AAU coaches. Most of the time the coaches travel free to tournaments, and dress in very nice athletic apparrel at the ball players expense. Parents are spending lots of money ($150-$250) just for their kids to play in sub par tournaments in this area where there are no scouts in the stands. I have a question? What percentage of all of these kids in Southeast Texas playing AAU ball actually get college scholarships?

BLUEDOVE3 Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 Okay, I've got more time to address this issue. So the next question is: How many kids are getting scholarships playing high school basketball?

NorthoftheBorder Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 What a sad world we live in. Pedophiles seek out youth organizations from sports to church groups/camps to give themselves access to kids and potential victims. No organization is immune from an imposter showing up wanting to help for this reason. Look at the work and cost associated with trying to keep them away.
