4 playoff teams in 3A-2A?

It is apparently a possibility.  I just saw this tweet from a Dallas Morning News writer which was retweeted by Chris Lyke of texashsfootball.com:

"Big for 3A D1 football: UIL proposal adds 4th playoff team in 3A, 2A in all sports. Moves to Legis. council in Oct."

If you are going to allow 4 teams to make the playoffs, then they should make every district a minimum of 8 teams per district.

I don't like that 4 teams go in 5A/4A when some of those districts only have 5-6 teams.

I agree. Making the playoffs used to be a big deal. I would like to see a uniform system from 1A-5A...either drop the split division system for all classes and take 3 to the playoffs or go split division system and take 2 per district

That would mean that in all but the 3 4A districts and 10-2A-I, a team does not even have to finish in the top half of district to make the playoffs.
